Day 1: Kolkata
Namaste! Welcome to India! Your on the go arrangements begin with your first nights accommodation tonight. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Kolkata
Today you will enjoy a sightseeing tour which includes a visit to the Indian Museum, Kalighat Temple, Mother Teresa House, Park Street cemetry and Victoria Memorial. Opened by the Prince of Wales in 1921, this imposing vision in marble often called the “Taj” of the British Raj overlooks the grassy Maidan, the city’s green belt. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Kolkata - Kalimpong
Early Morning visit to Flower Market near Howrah Bridge. Hotel check out. Departure transfer to the airport for your flight to Bagdogra. Kolktata / Bagdogra - 9W2480 - 1220 / 1320 Arrive and drive to Kalimpong (Around 2.5 hrs). Hotel check in.
Day 4: Kalimpong - Darjeeling
Today you travel to Darjeeling (about 2.05 hours) with your private car and driver. Hotel check in and day at leisure.
Day 5: Darjeeling
Enjoy a drive to Tiger Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga - the world’s third highest mountain. Continuing, enjoy a visit to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery). Toy train to Ghoom (subject to availability). Today you enjoy further sigthseeing which includes: a Tea Garden, Tibetan Refugee Centre, HMI, Botanical Garden & Zoo. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 7: Darjeeling - Kolkata
Today you travel by road with your private car and driver to Bagdogra (About 3 hours). Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kolkata. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 8: Kolkata - Varanasi
This morning you will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Varanasi (1105/1355). You will then be met at the airport. This evening you attend the evening Aarti Ceremeony on the Ganges.
Day 9: Varanasi
Varanasi - a city abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets. In the early morning of we will enjoy a boat ride on the holy Ganges River. Later in the day we embark on a walking tour of India’s spiritual city. Also enjoy a half day visit to Sarnath where you enjoy a walking tour to visit museums, ruins, Buddhist temples and stupas.
Day 10: Varanasi - Mumbai
Departure transfer to Varanasi airport for your flight to Mumbai via Kolkata Varanasi / Mumbai: 1100 / 1305 Arrive Mumbai & transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 11: Mumbai
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.
Day 13: Mumbai - Porbandar
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Porbander Mumbai / Porbandar - 9W2500 -1335 / 1550 Arrive Porbhander & transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 14: Porbandar - Rajkot
Today we travel about 187 kms to Rajkot, you are transferred in your private car with private driver. Time at leisure to explore independantly.
Day 16: Rajkot - Ahmedabad
Today you are transferred to Ahmedabad by private car and driver. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 17: Ahmedabad
Full day city sightseeing today with your local guide which includes a Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad, Jamm Masjid, Sidhi Sayed & Rani Sipri Mosque & Hatheesingh Temple, Calico or Shreyas Museum, Ghandi Ashram, Sarkej Roa, Adalaj well.
Day 19: Ahmedabad - Baroda
Today you will be transferred by road to Baroda with your private driver and car. Rest of the time at leisure.
Day 20: Baroda - Surat
Today travel by road to Surat with your private vehicle and driver. Time at leisure.
Day 22: Surat - Delhi
Time at leisure. Transfer to Surat train station for your overnight train to Delhi. 12951 - Rajdhani Express - 1940 / 0830
Day 23: Delhi
Arrive Delhi and transfer to your hotel. (check in usually midday/2pm) Rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 24: Delhi - Amritsar
Transfer to Delhi station for your train to Amritsar 2029 - Swaran Shatabdi - 0720 / 1315 - Air conditioned chair Car Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 25: Amritsar
Today a visit to the Famous Golden Temple the seat of the Sikh religion, Amritsar is one of the Punjab’s principal cities. Built in 1803 and made of marble, copper and pure leaf gold, the temple is an amazing architectural feat. Also you will enjoy a visit to Wagah - the only border crossing between India and Pakistan for the sunset ‘Retreat’ ceremony, where the changing of the guards & ceremonial lowering of the flags is performed with great pomp.
Day 26: Amritsar
Transfer to the train station to catch your train to Delhi Train 2030 - Swarna Shtabdi - 1700 / 2305 - Air Conditioned Chair car Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel in Delhi to Join the Group (Refer to Taj & Raj itinerary for further inclusions for the next portion of your holiday!)
