The grand entrance into Delhi's famous Red Fort

Day 1: Delhi

Upon arrival into Delhi, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or independently explore this bustling capital.

Day 2: Delhi

Day at leisure in Delhi.

Day 3: Delhi - Mandawa

Driving roughly 6 hours we reach Mandawa in time to check in to your hotel. This afternoons we visit Fescos paintings of the havelis and enjoy small camel ride (time permitting).

Day 4: Mandawa - Bikaner

Our next stop is the 14th century desert town of Bikaner. Once an important staging post on the great caravan routes, much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives. We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 and 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh and the Camel Breeding farm (open 15:00pm till 18:00pm).

Day 5: Bikaner - Jodhpur

An interesting drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. En route to Jodhpur, we Karni Mata Temple at Deshnoke (Rat Temple). In Jodhpur we’ll enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty Mehrangarh Fort and Centotaphs (Jaswant Thada).

Day 6: Jodhpur - Pushkar

This morning, we enjoy jeep safari to the Bishnoi Villages to explore the handicrafts before driving to Pushkah. This evening in Pushkah we visit the Pushkah Lake and Brahma Temple.

Day 7: Pushkar - Jaipur

Driving to Jaipur today we enjoy a half day city tour including the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory, Hawa Mahal and we drive past Johari Bazaar on our way back to the hotel.

Day 8: Jaipur

This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride (subject to elephant availabiliy and government regulations) transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. This afternoon at leisure with the driver and car at your disposal within the city limits.

Day 9: Jaipur

Day 10: Jaipur - Agra

En route to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water.

Day 11: Agra

We tour the legendary Taj Mahal (closed Friday's) and witness a magical sunrise. Built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century as an enduring memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers. Later today, we visit the impressive Agra Fort, which boasts some of India's finest Mughal buildings behind it's fortified walls and end the day with a visit to Itmaud-ud-daula (Baby Taj). Afternoon at leisure with car and driver at your disposal within the city limits.

Day 12: Agra - Delhi

Transferring back to Delhi today, we enjoy a half day tour of New Delhi taking in the Qutud Minar, Humayun's Tomb with a drive past the Government Buildings before returning to your hotel.

Day 13: Delhi

Free morning. Taking part in a half day afternoon tour of Delhi we visit the impressive Red Fort (closed Monday's), Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque and a rickshaw ride in the bylanes of the old city. Departure transfer to the airport. (Flying out at 23:25pm).
