Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi airport, transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Delhi - Jaisalmer

Today we will enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, with a rickshaw ride through the by-lanes of the old city. Later in the afternoon we transfer you to Delhi train station for your overnight train to Jaisalmer.

Day 3: Jaisalmer

On arrival into Jaisalmer we will be there to transfer you to your hotel. A free afternoon is followed by a camel ride over the sand dunes to watch the sunset in this magical region.

Day 4: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer visiting the Jaisalmer Fort, Jain temples and the traditional Havelis. An interesting drive through increasingly varied scenery takes you to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort, which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City because of the indigo coloured houses in the old town.

Day 5: Jodhpur

We’ll enjoy some touring this morning in Jodhpur, the colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city, which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. In the afternoon enjoy a jeep safari to the Bishnoi villages and explore local handicraft markets.

Day 6: Jodhpur - Udaipur

Departing Jodhpur continue south to Udaipur, en-route stop to visit the Jain Temples at Ranakpur (without a guide). An oasis of cool with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.

Day 7: Udaipur

This morning enjoy guided sightseeing of Udaipur, including the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Shaliyo ki bari Garden and Bharti lok kala Mandal. This evening enjoy a cruise on Lake Pichola on a shared boat.

Day 8: Udaipur - Pushkar

Today we drive to Pushkar. Sitting on the edge of the desert and clinging to the side of a small lake, Pushkar is an ancient Rajasthani town considered by Hindus to be one of the most sacred places in India. This afternoon enjoy a half day city tour visiting Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple.

Day 9: Pushkar - Jaipur

We are on the move again, heading for Jaipur today. A flamboyant showcase of Rajasthani architecture and a firm favourite on tourist itineraries as the third corner of India’s ‘Golden Triangle’, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan is popularly known as the ‘Pink City’. Remainder of the day at leisure with car and driver at your disposal.

Day 10: Jaipur

Today we visit the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride (subject to Government regulations and availability) transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Day 11: Jaipur - Agra

Today, we journey to Agra, once capital of India under the Mughals. Enroute to Agra we visit the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area (without a guide). After hotel check in, later this afternoon we visit the Taj Mahal in time for sunset. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers.

Day 12: Agra

This morning we re-visit the Taj Mahal for sunrise and later visit Agra Fort, which has some of the finest Mughal buildings in India behind its walls. We leave for Delhi today, enroute a quick visit to Sikandra (without a guide). Arriving late afternoon into Delhi we transfer you directly to the airport in time for your onward departure flight.
