Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! You will be met at Delhi International Airport and transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight - Red Fox Airport Hotel.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Udaipur (flight SG 247, departing at 10:40 and arriving at 12:10). On arrival we will check you into the hotel.
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in a shared boat on Lake Pichola itself.
Today enjoy a short drive out of the city to visit to Eklingji, a little village with a number of ancient temples and then Nagda, where you can find the three oldest temples in India! Return to Udaipur. Afternoon free time to relax.
This morning we set off for the desert town of Pushkar, famous for the Pushkar camel fair.On arrival we will check you into the hotel.
We enjoy a half day visit of Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple before a 3 hours drive takes you to the pink city of Jaipur.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! Free afternoon. Why not add on our tour of the city which includes the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. After a relaxing breakfast we will head off to Agra home to of India's most famous monuments - the Taj Mahal. En route we will also pay a visit to the ghostly former Moghul city of Fatehpur Sikri - the fortified ghost city abandoned soon after its construction because of water shortages in the area. Arriving in Agra you will check into your hotel, and this evneing we take our first visit to India's most iconic monument.
After breakfast we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. We then transfer you to the train station for the train to Delhi (NDL5 Shtabadi, departing at 20:25 and arriving at 22:45). on arrival we will check you into the hotel.
Our guided sightseeing tour of Delhi today covers the colourful chaos of Old Delhi. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Delhi was important centre of the Mughal dynasty and the British made it the capital city in 1911. We take in Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk, the bustling bazaar, as well as the Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana – the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru. Free afternoon.
