Day 1: Delhi

Upon arrival into Delhi, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or independently explore this bustling capital. Overnight - Delhi

Day 2: Delhi

This morning, we embark on a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. Tonight, we enjoy a delicious group Namaste Dinner at a restaurant specialising in classic Indian cuisine. Overnight - Delhi

Day 3: Delhi - Agra

Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Here, we visit the impressive Agra Fort, which boasts some of India's finest Mughal buildings behind it's fortified walls. Later on we take a motorised buggy to the legendary Taj Mahal and witness a magical sunset. Built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century as an enduring memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers. Overnight - Agra

Day 4: Agra - Jaipur

En route to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. As we get closer to Jaipur we stop for a tasty lunch and visit Chandra Haveli, a charming haveli (mansion house) with small courtyard, lawned gardens and rustic appeal carefully being restored to the splendour of better farming years (if open, currently under renovation till Dec 2012). Once in Jaipur, we visit a cotton trading/tailor shop where you can get clothing tailored for delivery to your hotel before we leave! Overnight - Jaipur

Day 5: Jaipur

This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Why not bolt on an early morning amazing hot air balloon ride? Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. Overnight - Jaipur

Day 6: Jaipur - Surajgarh

Today, we drive to the semi-desert Shekhawati region. The small towns in this region became important trading posts, a lasting legacy of which are the beautiful painted havelis (mansions) constructed by wealthy merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. Enjoy an afternoon village walk on your own. Overnight - Surajgarh - Shekhawati Region

Day 7: Surajgarh - Bikaner

Travelling west, our next stop is the 14th century desert town of Bikaner. Once an important staging post on the great caravan routes, much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives. We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 and 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh. Day 8: Bikaner - Jaisalmer

Driving through the Rajasthani Thar desert we arrive at the medieval caravan outpost of Jaisalmer, one of the jewels in India’s crown. Exquisite wood and sandstone buildings dot the town and within Jaisalmer Fort are homes, hotels and shops hidden in ancient lane ways. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight - Jaisalmer

Day 9: Jaisalmer

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer which includes Jaisalmer Fort one of the largest forts in the world. The Jain Temples place of worship for Jains, the followers of Jainism, and the Havelis (mansions). Afterwards return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. If you would prefer we can organise a late afternoon excursion to sam sand dunes to enjoy a short camel ride on sunset. Please let me know at time of confirmation and I can confirm this in at no extra charge. Overnight Jaisalmer.

Day 10: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

An interesting drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. We’ll enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. Overnight - Jodhpur

Day 11: Jodhpur - Ranakpur

Leaving Jodhpur, we drive to Ranakpur, a small town tucked away in a remote valley and famed for its beautiful 14th century Jain temples. We’ll enjoy some exploration here and time to relax at our hotel. Overnight - Ranakpur

Days 12-13: Ranakpur - Udaipur

Continuing south, we arrive at Udaipur. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples. During our stay we’ll enjoy a cruise on Lake Pichola, plus touring of the imposing City Palace, not to mention free time to explore and perhaps shop for colourful Rajasthani souvenirs and Indian spices. Overnight - Udaipur

Day 14: Udaipur - Mumbai

leaving Udaipur you will fly to Mumbai the the most populous city in India, and the fourth most populous city in the world. Upon arrival into Mumbai you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to you hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Mumbai.

Day 15: Mumbai

Rise early this morning for a half day visit to the Elephanta Caves. A network of sculpted caves located on Elephanta Island, or Gharapuri in Mumbai Harbour. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, if you are feeling game why not head down to the Slums which Mumbai are famous for and the site for the movie Slum Dog Millionare. Overnight Mumbai.

Day 16: Mumbai

This morning a city tour leads us to the Gateway of India – a former colonial monument and now a popular emblem of the city and a hubbub of life. The gate was built 1924-1927 to commemorate King George V’s visit in 1911. The biggest museum in India is next door - the Prince of Wales Museum. Sample bhelpuri (Mumbai’s favourite snack) at Chowpatty Beach along what is known as Marine Drive. It’s one of the city’s most popular promenades. No visit to Mumbai is complete without a visit to the bazaars of Kalbadevi and Bluleshwar, north of Crawford Market. Crawford Market is also worth a look. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Day 17: Mumbai - Varanasi

Today you leave the largest city in India and travel to the most Holiest city in India, Varanasi. Upon arrival into Varanasi you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. This evening visit The Ganges in the evening with guide to witness the evening Arti ceremony. Overnight Varanasi.

Day 18: Varanasi

Varanasi - a city abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets. In the early morning of we will enjoy a boat ride on the holy Ganges River. Later in the day we embark on a tour of India’s spiritual city. Enjoy the afternoon at your lesiure. Overnight Varanasi

Day 19: Varanasi - Delhi

Enjoy a well deserved sleep in as later today you will be transferred back to the airport for your final leg back to Delhi. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred back to your hotel. Overnight Delhi.

Day 20: Delhi

Today is yours free to do with as you want. Why not go back to those revisit some of what Delhi has to offer, as you spend today at leisure on your own. Overnight Delhi.

Day 21: Delhi

Today marks the end of your Indian adventure as you are transferred to the airport in time for your departure flight to your next destination.
