Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi, included transfer to hotel. The remainder of the day offers free time.
This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. Tonight, enjoy a cooking lesson with a fantastic chef then you get to eat what you cooked!
Morning at leisure. Your rep will transfer you to the airport for your afternoon flight to Varanasi where on arrival your rep will transfer you to your hotel. This evening your guide will take you to see the ritual ceremony that takes place on the riverside steps.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city highlights and a visit top Sarnath which is where Lord Buddha gave his first sermons.
This afternoon we bid farewell to Varanasi and fly west to Khajuraho. Enjoy an afternoon guided tour of the ancient temples. Evening at leisure.
Taking to the road enjoy your private car drive to your accommodations in Bandavgarh National Park. Arrival check in and enjoy dinner.
Bandhavgarh is set amidst the Vindhyan ranges. Claiming to have the highest density population of Bengal tiger in India, coupled with a population of leopard, nilgai, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, gaur, sambar deer and colourful bird life, game drives are often peppered with sightings. Enjoy morning and afternoon games today in shared jeeps.
Enjoy your final game drive this morning. We then take you to the train station in Umaria for the sleeper train to Agra.
Arriving into the station we will transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a day sightseering to the Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and in the evening a sunset tour of the magnificent Taj Mahal.
Taking to the road the morning is spent driving to Ranthambore National Park. Arriving there check in. This afternoon enjoy the first of your game drives in the park in shared jeeps or canters.
For today and tomorrow enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park by shared jeep or canter.
After our final morning game drive we will depart from this wonderful park hopefully having seen some of the elusive tigers. We take to the road and head to Jaipur.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
