Day 1: Delhi
Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Day 2: Delhi
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Day 3: Delhi - Amritsar
Early morning transfer to Delhi railway station, express train to Amritsar and hotel check in. This afternoon we’ll drive to the final frontier, Wagah to watch the sunset changing of the guards and ceremonial lowering of the flags. (TRAIN INFO Swarna Shtabadi, 0720/1325, AC Chair Car)
Day 4: Amritsar
Today we embark on an amazing sightseeing tour of the city which of course the highlight is the famous Golden Temple.
Day 5: Amritsar - Haridwar
Morning you return to Delhi arriving at around 11:50 we take you to a place for lunch before you board the train to Haridwar arriving there we will transfer you to your hotel. (TRAIN INFO Amritsar Shtabadi, 0500/1115, AC Chair Car + DDN Shtabadi, 1515/1930, AC Chair Car)
Day 6: Haridwar - Rishikesh
Enjoy a day with our guide for an in-depth tour of this sacred city. Highlights will include visiting Ganges to see devotees taking bath, visiting some of the famous temples like Mansa Devi, chandi temple, local markets and the evening aarti ceremony at Har-Ki-Pairi. We then drive to Rishikesh.
Day 7: Rishikesh
Known as the Yoga Capial of the World, Rishikesh is set on the banks of the Ganges and surrounded by hills, as such by its nature it is a perfect place to relax and spend time wandering along the river visiting the many temples. (Your hotel is not located in the town you will need to catch a taxi or rickshaw to get to Lakshman Jula where the temple stretch begins on the river to town)
Day 8: Rishikesh - Delhi
A free morning to further soak up some final sights or perhaps enjoy a spot of shopping, then drive to Delhi arrival and check into your hotel. (TRAIN INFO Dehradun Shtabadi, 1813/2245, AC Chair Car)
Day 9: Delhi
Early morning express train to Agra- Arrival and meet your guide whom will take you to tour the magnificent Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Return in the evening to Delhi by train. (TRAIN INFO Bhopal Shtabadi, 0615/0812, AC Chair Car + Shtabadi, 2030/2230, AC Chair Car)
