Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Mumbai and catch your connecting flight to Delhi - Arrival Delhi and we will transfer you to your hotel.
This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Morning will drive to Haridwar here your driver will take you around some of the key points of interest before driving you onto Rishikesh.
Enjoy the day to explore all the temples and ashrams and holy bathing ghats on the Ganges in this very scared city.
Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Here, we take a motorised buggy to the legendary Taj Mahal. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers. Continuing, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls.
First we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. After we drive to Delhi airport for your flight to Chennai.
Enjoy a full day with your guide to explore Kanchipuram, one of sacred cities in India and the seaside town of Mahabalipuram, famous for its shore temple. Evening at leisure.
This morning you fly to Trivandrum. On arrival we drive you to visit India's most southern point in Kanyakumari. Return transfer to Kovalam bay which is near Trivandrum.
Morning drive to board a traditional Keralan rice boat for a journey through the backwaters in and around Allapuzha (Alleppey). The boat will cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes and cruise along peaceful canals where copra and cashews are loaded onto local boats. The on-board cook will prepare locally-inspired food. Relax, read and catch some sun as the boat plies it’s route.
Disembarking at Allapuzha, enjoy a short drive to Kochi (Cochin). The city of Kochi perfectly reflects the eclecticism of Kerala. One can see winding streets with mosques, a 16th century Jewish synagogue and Jewish community with ancient roots and 500 year old Portuguese cottages! Enjoy the remains of the day your way. This evening included excursion to see a Kathakali Dance performance.
Early morning flight to Mumbai. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Afternoon tour of Mumbai including visits to the Prince of Wales museum, Marine Drive and the Mani Bhawan Jain temple.
