Today we head out to explore sightseeing of Delhi both new and old with visits to the battlemented Red Fort - built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - a marble memorial marking the spot where the great leader- Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his assassination. We also visit Humayun’s Tomb and India's largest mosque, Qutab Minar. (OVERNIGHT Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel)
Departing Delhi, we journey 5hours to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! We conclude the day with a guided tour of the incredible Taj Mahal which allows free time to take in a romantic sunset.
En route a stop is made at the fantastically well preserved former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified city was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned dramatically due to a lack of water. Explore the various temples, places of worships, pavilions, public areas and examples of everyday living such as areas from where ablutions were performed, to an ancient aqua cooling system and marvel at how life must have been for the inhabitants of this old city.Continue to the Pink City of Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, afternoon at leisure.
This morning an exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty 16th century Amber Fort. Later we explore the City Palace containing an interesting museum of regal attire. Just over the road is Jantar Mantar, an observatory of astronomy built by Jai Singh in 1728. At first glance, Jantar Mantar resembles a sculpture park, though in fact, each construction has a specific scientific purpose. Some measure the positions of stars, whilst others calculate eclipses, the lunar calendar and simply the time of day. Even today, most of the constructions remain accurate!
This morning we head off to the train station and catch the JP UDZ SF SPL 0645/1345 hours train to Udaipur. Train travel is a must-do experience for any visitor young or old! The friendly locals will be vying for a chat with you, so sit back and enjoy the journey. Arriving into Udaipur, meet our local driver who will take you onto your hotel.
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in an private boat on Lake Pichola itself.
Today we have a 2 flight journey to get to Varanasi, flights time as follows 9W 2628 0810/0950 hours & 9W 2423 1050/1215 hours, transfers will be organised by our local teams at both ends. This evening, meet our guide who will take you out to witness the evening ritual worship that takes place on the riverbank.
Abundant with temples and a labyrinth of streets, Varanasi is exciting, enticing and a city not to be missed. Early this morning we enjoy a boat ride on the River Ganges to view the sunrise and the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the ghats (riverside steps). Enjoy a tour of the city, with its numerous temples and wonderful historic feel; with time later to relax.

This morning you will have a sightseeing tour of the city, taking in the incredible Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. We then drive to Dharamsala for our first glimpse of the might Himalayan peaks.
Enjoy guided site seeing of Mcleodganj, the higher settlement of Dharamsala. This 'Little Lhasa' is a magical world of spinning prayer wheels, fluttering prayer flags, spectacular mountain views, cultivated hillscapes and a kaledoscopic panorama of wealth. Everything here spreads the message of peace and universal harmony.
Enjoy a day at your leisure to explore with the driver and vehicle at your disposal. We would highly recommend going for a walk on one of the many trails in the surrounding hills and forests.
This morning through stunning scenery, we will drive you to Shimla. The ‘summer capital’ of British India sprawls along a crescent-shaped ridge at an altitude of over 2100m in southern Himachal Pradesh. This was the most important hill station in India before Independence.
Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks. The afternoon is yours for relaxing.
Morning we journey to the station in Ambala and catch the ASR HW Janshatabdi 1105/1355 hrs train to Haridwar. Arriving into Haridwar, we enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of the significant temples and sites in the city, before driving onto Rishikesh.

Morning we journey to the station in Haridwar and catch the Dehradun Shatabdi 1813/2245 hrs train to Delhi. Arriving into Delhi, you will see our local driver on hand to take you to your hotel. (OVERNIGHT Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel)
Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
