Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi in the morning, included transfer to hotel. Afternoon half day sightseeing taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque.
Morning transfer for the train to Haridwar (Dehradun Shatabdi 0650/1125 hrs) AC Chair Car. Arrival in Haridwar and our rep will transfer you by road to Rishikesh.
Morning or afternoon enjoy a half day tour taking some of the key highlights such as Laxman Temple and cross Laxmanjhula bridge to walk along the Ganges till Ramjhula bridge including visits to Parmarth Niketan and Geeta Bhawan.
This morning we will drive back to Haridwar where you will get time to visit some of it's historic temples and sites before your drop off at the station for the train back to Delhi (Dehradun Shatabdi hrs 1800/2240 hrs) AC Chair Car. Arriving into Delhi we will take you to your hotel.
Departing Delhi, we journey 5hrs to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! This evening enjoy a guided tour of and free time to see the romantic sunset at the Taj Mahal.
En route driving to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. Arrive Jaipur check into your hotel. Late afternoon/evening free time.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Morning free - Later transfer to the airport for the direct Mumbai flight (AI 612 1340/1520 hrs) Arrival in Mumbai included transfer to your hotel.
Today we embark on a glittering city tour, with a morning visit to the cave temples of Elephanta Island sculpted during the 5th to the 8th centuries. In the afternoon visit the Prince of Wales museum, Marine Drive and the Mani Bhawan Jain temple.
