We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel early this morning (Early check in requested but not guaranteed) . Our guided sightseeing tour of Delhi today covers the colourful chaos of Old Delhi. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Delhi was important centre of the Mughal dynasty and the British made it the capital city in 1911. We take in Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk, the bustling bazaar, as well as the Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana – the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore.
We will transfer you to the train station for the train to Kalka (departing at 07:40). On arrival at Kalka (11:45), we will meet you and drive you to Shimla (approximately 3 hours) and check you into the hotel.
Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks. In the afternoon we will drive you to Kalka for the train to Delhi (departs at 17:45 and arrives 21:55). We will meet you at the train station ad transfer you to the hotel.
Departing Delhi, we drive 5 hrs to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! We also visit the mighty Taj Mahal with a guided tour then a bit of free time as the sun sets.
This morning you can revisit the Taj on your own for sunrise. Later we drive 90 minutes to Bharatpur enjoy lunch at the Udai Vilas Palace. We will then take the train to Sawai Madhopur. Train 12060 departs at 15:50 and arrives at 18:02. Upon arrival, we will pick you and transfer you to your hotel. Rest of the day is free and at your leisure.
In addition to the Bengal tiger, Ranthambhore is home to wild boar, nilgai, sambar deer and a variety of birds. Tiger spotting is more common in the morning and late afternoon and toady we will head out on game drives in shared jeeps or canters at both times for optimum viewing!
After breakfast this morning we will transfer you to the Sawai Madhopur station for your train departing at 1057 and arriving into Delhi at 1735. On arrival into Delhi we will transfer you to the airport for your flight (booked independently by clients) to Bangalore. On arrival into Bangalore you will be transferred to your hotel.
