The grand entrance into Delhi's famous Red Fort

Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to the start of your voyage of discovery through 'Incredible India'! You will be met at Delhi International Airport by our friendly local team and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure to explore or relax as you like.

Day 2: Delhi

This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque. This afternoon why not further enhance your exploration of this busting city with an afternoon guided journey through the New Delhi area the highlights will include India gate a drive past parliamentary buildings and President's house, a guided visit to Humayun's tomb then concluding with sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage Site Qutub minar. Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur

Today, we drive to Jaipur. Affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan. We enjoy a tour of the City Palace, (watch out for snake charmers that dot our route) and Jantar Mantar - an old yet cleverly designed space observatory.

Day 4: Jaipur

This morning we travel beyond Jaipur to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort - a sprawling Rajput concoction which hugs the hill on which it was built and overlooks the hot plains below. We'll ascend the road leading to the palace in princely style, aboard Indian elephants, - subject to regulations/availability as the elephants are limited to the number of trips that can make up the fort each day. Arriving at the top we'll tour the fort’s well-preserved interior and grounds. Back in Jaipur, enjoy the remains of the day your way.

Day 5: Jaipur - Agra

En route to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water. In Agra, we visit the impressive Agra Fort before touring the legendary Taj Mahal and witnessing a glorious golden sunset. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz, who tragically died in childbirth in 1631, the Taj Mahal in Agra is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love and remains one of India’s most enduring symbols.

Day 6: Agra - Haridwar

This morning we transfer you to the station to catch the Ujjaini Express train (Tue & Thu only) to Haridwar the train departs at 07:10 and arrives at 16:47 - Arriving here we will transfer you to your hotel. This evening you will be taken to the sacred riverside to watch the ritual ceremony of worship.

Day 7: Haridwar - Rishikesh

Today city sightseeing tour incl. Mansa Devi, ancient Daksh Mahadev and Chandi Devi Temple set upon the banks of the Ganges. An hours drive on day 2 leads us to Rishikesh. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of this holy city and soak up the views of the majestic Himalayas.

Day 8: Rishikesh - Shimla

Today we have a long day of travel we drive through the Himalayan foothills to the town of Shimla (min 10 hours travel time)

Day 9: Shimla

Enjoy a day to explore the city. Perhaps you may enjoy a day hiking in the surrounding gorgeous scenery or a guided tour of the city. Please have a read of the 'enhance your holiday' section of the quote.

Day 10: Shimla - Delhi

Today offers free time for you to independently explore Shimla. You can opt to stroll, drop by the colourful Lakkar Bazaar or hike to the summit of Jakhoo Hill, Shimla’s highest point. Here visitors are rewarded with panoramic views of the eternal snows set as a glorious backdrop to the sleepy township of Shimla beneath. Hotel check out is at 12 noon, opt for some lunch and pack an evening picnic meal before boarding the Kalka Shatabdi Express at sunset and arriving into Delhi late this evening.

Day 11: Delhi

Sadly your journey comes to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
