Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today we will drive to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will check into your hotel and this afternoon, enjoy a city tour including the impressive Agra Fort.
This morning we will visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise. This afternoon we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construciton due to droughts in the area. We will then drive on to to Jaipur.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will approach atop an elephant to arrive in style!This afternoon we will have a tour of the city.
This morning we will drive to Bikaner and check in to your hotel. This afternoon we will have a city tour. Much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives.
Today we will drive to Jaisalmer. Unique in India, this captivating sandy outpost is known as the Golden City owing to the honey colour imparted to its stone ramparts by the setting sun.
After breakfast at the hotel we will have a morning sightseeing tour of the city. A free afternoon is followed by a camel ride to watch the sunset in this magical region over romantic sand dunes.
Today, we travel to Jodhpur, the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city, and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defence against mosquitoes! We’ll enjoy some touring of Jodhpur’s highlights.
This morning we will transfer you to the famous romantic city of Udaipur. Udaipur, an oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in a boat on Lake Pichola itself.
This morning you will fly to Mumbai arriving there you will transit for a short time before your flight to Kochi in the tropical state of Kerala. Arriving there you will be transferred to your hotel to rest after the days travels. Evening visit to see Kathkali dance performance. Depart Jaipur 8.40, arrive 1015 Depart Mumbai on flight 13:40, arrive Kochi 1525.
Welcome to Kochi. The touring today includes the visit to Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese for a local King in 1555 A.D. The famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. A walking tour of Fort Cochin will take you through the streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch & British colonial architecture.
Today we will drive to Thekkerdy. The drive will take you through tranquil countryside, rich plantations & thick jungles.
Today we will drive to Alleppey where we will embark on a traditional rice boat. It is a simply furnished for a journey through the backwaters in and around Alleppey. Crewed by a poler to push the rice boat through the water, a distance of some 20 kms will be covered, during which time the boat will glide past colourful local villages. As for dining, the on-board cook will prepare meals using fresh local produce.
The boat will cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes and cruise along peaceful canals where copra and cashews are loaded onto local boats. The on-board cook will prepare locally-inspired food. Relax, read and catch some sun as the boat plies it’s route.
Today we drive to Kovalem. For your remaining days in India with us really relax. Stroll for miles along white palm fringed sandy beaches, try sampling the local seafood and sipping cocktails on your sunlounger it is the perfect remedy to unwind.
Now it's time to sit back and relax here in this laid back coastal area of India on your free day.
