Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours! Upon your arrival at Delhi's international airport our local representative will be there to collect you in the arrivals hall and transfer you to your hotel for check in. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi. The order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the disorganised chaos of the Old City but both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 3: Delhi - Agra

An early morning start today as we drive you to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will have a sightseeing tour to the Agra Fort, before watching the sun set on the Taj Mahal itself.

Day 4: Agra - Ranthambhore NP

Departing Agra this morning we make our way by road to Ranthambhore National Park, en route stopping to visit the ghostly abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned only eight years after its construction due to droughts in the area. Arrive Ranthambhore for hotel check in.

Day 5: Ranthambhore NP

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. The forests around the Ranthambore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur.


Day 6: Ranthambhore NP - Jaipur

Enjoy a morning game drive in Ranthambhore before transferring by road to the Pink City of Jaipur (approx. 4hr drive). Upon your arrival into Jaipur, hotel check in with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! We then enjoy a city tour including the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire, and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. Tonight a New Year's Eve gala dinner will be served at your hotel.

Day 8: Jaipur

It's the start of a new year and what better way to spend it then at your complete leisure.

Day 9: Jaipur - Bikaner

Departing Jaipur this morning we proceed to Bikaner, founded in 1486 as a link in the overland trading route. The fort and palace built of the same reddish-pink sandstone as many of Jaipur’s famous buildings are beyond the city walls. After hotel check in enjoy an afternoon city tour.

Day 10: Bikaner - Jaisalmer

Today we continue on and start driving through the Rajasthani Thar desert where we arrive at the medieval caravan outpost of Jaisalmer, one of the jewels in India’s crown. Exquisite wood and sandstone buildings dot the town and within Jaisalmer Fort are homes, hotels and shops hidden in ancient lane ways.

Day 11: Jaisalmer

During our stay in this stunning Rajasthani fortress town we’ll enjoy some touring including Jaisalmer Fort, Jain Temples and the Havelis (mansions) and Gadi Sagar Lake. This evening enjoy a desert camel safari on the rolling sand dunes at sunset.

Day 12: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Today, we travel to Jodhpur, the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur, the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defence against mosquitoes!

Day 13: Jodhpur

A morning sightseeing tour of the city today, taking in the old city, which is surrounded by a 10km-long wall. In the old city are a tangle of streets and alleyways, bazaars and human traffic. Standing at the edge of the Thar Desert, the city is dominated by its massive fort, which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town. Meherangarh Fort, still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur is an impressive sight. Later during free time, why not explore the Clock Tower markets, where you can bargain for spices, richly coloured Rajasthani textiles and ornaments.

Day 14: Jodhpur - Udaipur

Enroute to Udaipur today, you will visit the 14th century Jain temples at Ranakpur (no guide). An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.

Day 15: Udaipur

This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in a boat on Lake Pichola itself.

Day 16: Udaipur - Mumbai

Today we will transfer you to the airport for your flight south to Mumbai, home of Bollywood. Upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 17: Mumbai

This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.

Day 18: Mumbai

Today marks the end of your incredible adventure with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport in time for your onward departure flight.
