Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your incredible journey with On the Go Tours! Upon your arrival you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in Delhi where the remainder of the day can be spent at leisure.

Day 2: Delhi

Discover what is called New Delhi today on a guided sightseeing tour taking in such sights as Includes Hanuman Mandir, Bangla Sahib, Agarsen ki Boli, Purana Qila, Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb and Lutyen Buildings.

Day 3: Delhi

Our guided sightseeing tour of Delhi today covers the colourful chaos of Old Delhi. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Delhi was important centre of the Mughal dynasty and the British made it the capital city in 1911. We take in Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk, the bustling bazaar, as well as the Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana – the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru.

Day 4: Delhi

Day at leisure for you to independently explore Delhi.

Day 5: Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast this morning we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Varanasi (6E 308, 0850/1010). Upon your arrival into Varanasi you will be met and transferred to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. Later this evening witness an Aarti ceremony along the Ganges with a boat ride included.

Day 6: Varanasi

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city and the famous Buddhist holy sight of Sarnath. Sarnath is where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men, preaching the middleway to final 'NIRVANA’.

Day 7: Varanasi - Khajuraho

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight Khajuraho (SG 2394, 1340/1435) where upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 8: Khajuraho

Full day to visit the resplendent Hindu temples which were built during the Chandela dynasty and famous for their delicate sensuality and forthright eroticism - how and why they were built still remains a mystery.

Day 9: Khajuraho - Agra

Today we drive out to Orchha, situated amid a tangle of scrubby forest. to visit the impressive complex of well-preserved palaces and temples. Later this evening we transfer you to the railway station for your train to Agra (NDLS Shtabadi, 1800/2030, Executive Chair Car). Upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 10: Agra

Today we rise early to see the Taj Mahal in the ethereal morning light. Enjoy a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love, as well as some free time to leisurely explore independently. Later we visit Agra fort, built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, which contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque. We'll also visit the Baby Taj and Sikandra. This evening we'll return to the Taj Mahal at sunset.

Day 11: Agra - Jaipur

Today we leave Agra and head to Jaipur. En route we stop to explore the ghostly fortified city of Fatehpur Skiri, abandoned only eight years after its construction due to water shortages in the area. Upon arrival into Jaipur, the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 12: Jaipur

This morning enjoy a tour of the city which includes the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 13: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! Afternoon at leisure. Later this evening enjoy an elephant safari at the grounds of Dera Amer where a sumptuous dinner will also be served.

Day 14: Jaipur - Jodhpur

Departing Jaipur this morning we make our way to Jodhpur. Upon arrival check in to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 15: Jodhpur

A full day sightseeing tour of the city today, taking in the old city, which is surrounded by a 10km-long wall. In the old city are a tangle of streets and alleyways, bazaars and human traffic. Standing at the edge of the Thar Desert, the city is dominated by its massive fort, which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town. Meherangarh Fort, still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur is an impressive sight. Today you'll also visit the Jaswant Thada, Mandore Garden and Clock Tower.

Day 16: Jodhpur

Enjoy a day at leisure to independently explore Jodhpur or make the most of the local markets and undertake a little souvenir shopping.

Day 17: Jodhpur - Udaipur

Our journey of Rajasthan continues today as we depart Jodhpur and make our way by road to Kumbalgarh. En route the driver will stop at Ranakpur and you will have some free time to independently explore the wonderful temples here before proceeding on your journey.

Day 18: Udaipur

Today enjoy a guided visit of the Kumbhalgarh Fort. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, and enlarged through the 19th century, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Be sure to have your eyes on the fort later on in the today as the structure is spectacularly lit for a few minutes each evening.

Day 19: Udaipur

Today we head towards Udaipur for a day's excursion the to Eklingi and Nagda Temples. Eklingi is a lovely marble complex made up of 108 temples. Proceed to Udaipur for hotel check in and evening at leisure.

Day 20: Udaipur

An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples. This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. Later this evening visit the Monsoon Palace.

Day 21: Udaipur

Day at leisure for you to enjoy the local Mewar Festival.

Day 22: Udaipur - Delhi

This morning we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Delhi (SG 2436, 1235/1405) where the rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 23: Delhi

Today marks the end of your incredible adventure with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport in time for your onward departure journey, wishing you a fond farewell.
