Day 1: Mumbai

Welcome to India. We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax after you long flight.

This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.

Day 3: Mumbai

Day at leisure without the car.

Day 4: Mumbai - Varkala

We will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the airport for the flight to Trivandrum. Upon arrival in Trivandrum, we will meet you and then drive to Varkala and check you into the hotel.

Day 5: Varkala

Day at leisure without the car.

Day 6: Varkala - Alleppey

Today we will drive you to Alleppey and check you onto the house boat. The boat will cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes and cruise along peaceful canals where copra and cashews are loaded onto local boats. The on-board cook will prepare locally-inspired food. Relax, read and catch some sun as the boat plies its route.

Day 7: Alleppey - Periyar NP

Disembark from the houseboat and drive to Periyar. A short drive south to Periyar, South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary and home to bison, antelopes, sambar, wild boar, birds and even the odd tiger!

Day 8: Periyar NP

Today you will have a nature walk in the park, which has wild elephent herds and many of the varied wildlife. In the afternoon we will take you to a Spice Plantation.

Day 9: Periyar NP - Munnar

We will meet you at the hotel and drive you to Munnar. You will have a visit to a tea plantation.

Day 10: Munnar - Kochi

We will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to Kochi. Upon arrival in Kochi we will get you checked into the hotel.

Day 11: Kochi

This commercial city, also called “The Queen of the Arabian Sea” is famous for its exquisite designer Gold Jewelry. The Indian Navy, the Port and the Airport share the largely man-made Willingdon Island. You will have a half day city tour and then a sunset cruise to see the Chinese fishing nets.

Day 12: Kochi

We will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight.
