This morning we visit the Diaspora museum, then drive around the main streets of Tel Aviv, center of business and entertainment of Israel. The we make a stop at Rabin's square, the place of assassination of Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin. In the afternoon a short drive brings us to Jaffa, an ancient port where we enjoy a walking tour of the picturesque fortified town, see the House of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the hilltop views. Continuing north along the coast we visit Caesarea, one of the great cities of antiquity and Megiddo, the location of many ancient battles and the city referred to in the book of Revelation as ‘Armageddon’. Here we explore the archaeological ruins before continuing to Acre, to visit the Crusaders and Turkish underground city and crypt. We will walk through the old city and the oriental market, the Arab mosque and the old port. We then drive to Haifa for a scenic view of the city, the port and the Bahai gardens before arriving at our hotel for the night. OVERNIGHT IN HAIFA at Bay Club Hotel
We proceed to Nazareth and visit the Church of the Annunciation that dominates the city’s skyline. It’s the largest church in the Middle East and one of the Christian world’s most holy shrines. We also have time to visit Mary’s Well before our drive to Tzipori and visit the ruins of the Roman and Byzantine ancient city with gorgeous mosaic floors. We continue to Safed, city of the Kabala in the northern district of Galilee, for a walk through the mystic alleys and the artists’ colony. After, we drive to your hotel in Tiberias. Today we drive round the sea of Galilee to visit Capernaum, an ancient fishing village and the centre of Jesus’ ministry. In Tabgha, the site where Christ miraculously fed the 5,000, we see the wonderful mosaic floor of the Church of Multiplication before continuing to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the ‘Sermon on the Mount’. Ascending to the rocky plateau of the Golan Heights we enjoy panoramic views of the rugged peaks of Mount Hermon with the green pastoral Huleh valley stretching out below and a visit to the village of Druze before driving to your hotel in Ramallah. This morning we explore Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Continue to Nablus, visit Jacob's well and explore the markets of the Old City. From Nablus we will drive north stopping at the excavated Roman site of Sabastia and visiting the third oldest church in the world at Burquin. We then return to your hotel back Ramallah. This morning we drive through the Judean desert to Mar Saba Monastery one of the most ancient monasteries in the world. We then continue exploring with a visit to Bethlehem to see the Church of the Nativity and enjoying the views of Shepherds’ Fields before driving to your hotel in Jerusalem. Start the day with the spectacular panoramic views from Mt. Scopus before a stop at the Mount of Olives, the site where Jesus first gave the Lord’s Prayer. We visit the Garden of Gethsemane before heading to the Old City where we see the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Just outside of the Old City is Mount Zion with the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. Overnight at Harmony Hotel
Today drive to the Government Neighborhood and see the Knesset and the famous Menorah. Then onto the Hadassa Hospital and admire the Chagall Windows in the synagogue. After, the Israel Museum; learn about the Dead Sea Scrolls in the Shrine of the Book and the Model of Jerusalem in times of the Second Temple. End the day at Yad Vashem, the Jewish people’s living memorial to the Holocaust. Explore the Valley of the Communities, the Children’s Memorial and the Avenue of the Righteous among the Nations and then finally drive to Ein Kerem a picturesque village where John the Baptist was born. An excursion today takes us to the remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea and Masada, a UNESCO-listed fortress situated on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. We ascend by cable car to the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Here we visit the excavations of King Herod’s palace, the synagogue and bathhouse. The site also offers spectacular views of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. We’ll also see the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and enjoy floating on the salty, mineral-rich waters (weather permitting), before heading back to Jerusalem. We depart Jerusalem, heading for the green hills of Judea, toward the Ellah Valley, where David fought Goliath. Ascend to the mound known as Tel Azekah which served as the base-camp for the Philistines during this famous Biblical battle. After explore Beit Guvrin National Park, which is home to the ancient city of Beit Guvrin, tour Beit Guvrin which contains antiquities and unusual caves, including those of Tel Maresha. Enjoy exploring the many caves, which include water cisterns, stables, burial caves and beautifully preserved columbaria (dovecote). We then drive to the airport for your flight home.
