First visit today is - Prime Minister David Ben Gurion's Burial Place, then we continue our sightseeing to Ein Avdat National Park, brief camel ride, Bedouin Experience, overnight in nice tents in the desert under the stars in Kfar HaNokdim, Arad
Overnight last night was Arad, and we set off from Arad this morning. Today's sightseeing includes Massada with the cable car, Jeep ride in the desert (buggies), Ein Gedi (where David hid from King Saul), Dead Sea swim, Qumran (where the Dead Sea scrolls were found), travel Jordan River Valley to Tiberias. Hotel: Hotel Arcadia.
Start the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, Belt Igal Alon (First Century Jesus Boat), Mt. of Beatitudes (site of Jesus teaching the sermon on the mount), Capernaum (Peter's home and site of teachings and miracles), Tabgha (where Jesus multiplied the fish and loaves - Matt. 14:19-21), lunch provided today - St. Peter's fish! Yardenit Baptismal Site (Jordan River). You will also see Cana (where Jesus turned the water into wine - John 2) and Nazareth (where Mary conceived Jesus and where Jesus grew up), so a long day today.
Drive through to Megiddo (city built by King Solomon; future site of Battle of Armageddon - Rev. 16:16, 19:19), Mt. Carmel (where Elijah killed the prophets of Baal and turned Israel back to God I Kings 18), Caesarea (Acts 10 - Cornelius and his Gentile household were saved). You will be back in time to be at the Western Wall to see Shabbat (starts approx. 6pm) Time permitting we will stop at Bethlehem today - if there isnt enough time it will be done on Sunday 14 September). Sightseeing today includes Mt. of Olives (favorite prayer place of Jesus), Dominus Flevit (where Jesus wept over Jerusalem - Matt. 23:37-39), Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26:36-46 - where Jesus wrestled with and yielded to God's will over his crucifixion), St. Peter de Gallicantu (where Peter denied Jesus. Where Jesus was kept in a dungeon overnight - Matt. 26:69-75), Western Wall (aka Wailing Wall), Church of St. Anne (Mary's mother's home was there, Pools of Bethesda by it), Ecce Homo (where Jesus stood before Pilate; where the soldiers mocked Him), Via Dolorosa (the way of the cross), Garden Tomb (empty tomb and garden thought to be Jesus' tomb by some Protestants).
Sightseeing today includes Temple Mount (where the 1st and 2nd Temple stood; where the Dome of the Rock stands now), Southern Steps of the Temple Mount (probable sight of Acts 2 outpouring of Holy Spirit), City of David including Hezekiah's Tunnel (2 Kings 20:20), Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, View of the Knesset & Menorah. King of Kings Prayer Tower & Service. We will also include a trip to Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity.
