Upon arrival at Tel Aviv Airport we are met by our Tour manager, who will assist us with immigration and luggage formalities. We will drive to Jerusalem. We begin our day standing on Mt. of Olives- overlooking the beautiful panoramic view of Jerusalem- the Old and the New city. From here we shall walk down along the same path that Jesus took when entering the city on Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane; the site where Jesus prayed at the Rock of Agony in the Garden. On to We visit Mount Zion and the Upper Room, traditional site of the Last Supper. We will also visit the traditional location of the Tomb of King David. In the afternoon we drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd's Field. Return to our hotel for dinner. @ Hotel Dan in Jerusalem (Former Regency) or similar
Today we explore the old city of Jerusalem including the Western Wall Tunnels and the Wailing Wall. The holiest place of pilgrimage for the Jews! Here we can observe the Orthodox Jews as they pray. We walk the Via Dolorosa - The one mile long route from the point of condemnation by Pontius Pilate to Golgotha, Calvary Hill to the Holy Sepulcher Church - Stations X- X1V on the Via Dolorosa We will conclude the day with a visit to Calvary and the Garden Tomb, a peaceful spot where we can remember Christ’s crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. After breakfast we depart Jerusalem and travel to Megiddo. Next stop, Mount Carmel - Overlooking the city of Haifa with the Mediterranean Sea. We stand where the Prophet Elijah performed his miracle and called upon the fire of God to conquer the Prophets of Baal. Continue to Nazareth - where Jesus spent his childhood with Mary and Joseph. Visit the church of the Annunciation and stop at Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle when he changed water into wine at a wedding. Our Journey continues to the Upper Gailiee. Will take a short hike in Tel Dan - This national park and archeological site offers a blend of Israel's natural beauty and Biblical history. Caesarea Philippi - Built at one of the sources of the Jordan River, the city of Panias (named by the Greeks after the goat-footed god, Pan) was later renamed by the Romans as Caesarea Philippi. It was here that Jesus revealed to the Disciples His purpose, His Church, and where Peter identified Jesus as the Messiah. Onto the Golan Heights - this parcel of land plays a significant role in the security of those living in the Jordan Valley and Upper Galilee. We end the day at the baptism site on the Jordan River.
