Eilat Tailormade Holidays
Lying deep in Israel’s south, on the borders with Jordan, Egypt and the iconic Red Sea is the busy port and popular tourist resort of Eilat. This desert resort is lucky enough to enjoy an average of 360 sunny days a year and there are lots of fun and exciting things to do. It is a summer haven for Israelis and in the winter is more frequented by Europeans.
Being on the coast, there are lots of water sports on offer including jetskiing, scuba diving, snorkelling and even dolphin viewing. The Coral Reserve to the south of the city is especially popular as it homes a splendid array of tropical fish as well as an Underwater Observatory and Marine Museum. For those opting to stay on dry land there is a local winery you can visit as well as a bird park.
Eilat is a great base for exploring the surrounding areas and is also good for a day trip to the Rose Red City of Petra in Jordan. The surrounding Eilat mountains are dotted with archaeological and historic sites and there are many natural and beauty spots to discover. Hiking and trekking in the Uvda Valley is the perfect way to see this amazing landscape as you explore wonders such as the world’s oldest temple, first semi-nomadic settlement and the magnificent Caravan Cliffs.
