ANZAC Day – 25th April – Gallipoli, Turkey

Vesak Festival – 16th May - Sri Lanka
Takes place on the first day of the full moon in May and is the most hallowed of all Buddhist festivals. The day is spent in thoughtful prayer which is followed by an evening procession with mime and theatre performances and coloured lanterns are hung in every home.

Dragon Boat Festival – 25 May – China
This festival is an occasion to ward off disease and evil spirits and is celebrated with a series of exciting dragon boat races. Boats are very brightly decorated in the style of a dragon and are raced by competing teams to the rhythm of drums. Depending on the size of the boat, there may be up to 80 rowers in one boat!
