Friendly. Knowledgeable. Helpful. Personally, I would have preferred a bit less quoting/referencing the Koran and Islam by the guide, but other people on the tour seemed to be interested and encouraging it, so it is just a personal preference.
The Wadi Rum desert camp was rustic. I got many mosquito bites. I have previously camped in a desert many times by necessity, so this addition was not a new experience for me. Again, others might have got more out of it than I did.
Petra was very interesting. Jamilla gave a good tour with plenty of information and insight. It was larger with more walking than I really expected. I should have had better footwear ( i.e. Trail boots) than I did; I only have sneakers. I think future tour members could benefit from being informed of the relatively rough walking surfaces and perhaps a suggested packing list could be useful.”
Absolutely amazing. Rami and Ogla really knew their stuff and went above and beyond their call of duty. I had my birthday over in Jordan and the guides surprised me with a birthday cake and presents; it was completely unexpected and lovely. Will definitely be going back again.”
An excellent tour from start to finish. Hollie Youlden was really helpful during the booking process. Our guide, Ogla, was brilliant. Within minurtes of starting the tour he new all our names and quickly established a rapport with the group. He balanced good humour with total professionalism and care. He is very knowledgable and passionate about Jordan and made our holiday very special. We particularly enjoyed our discussions on religion and culture (perhaps Ogla could be encouraged to enlighten our politicians in the UK and US !!!). Our only very small criticism is that we found some of the buffet meals a little bland and would have preferred to eat in smaller more local restaurants although we do appreciate the problems in catering for a mixed group with differing tastes.”
