Welcome to Jordan and the start of your holiday! Arrive into Amman and transfer to your hotel.
This morning we visit Jerash, the world’s best-preserved Roman provincial city, built over 2,000 years ago. Here we visit the Forum, the arena, where the chariot wheel tracks can still be seen, the Temple of Artemis and the South Theatre. We continue to Umm Qais, a dramatic black-basalt Roman city with panoramic views over the Sea of Galilee.
Today we visit Amman’s National Archaeological Museum, The Forum and Citadel Hill. We head to Mt. Nebo, the site from which it is believed that Moses saw the Promised Land. In Madaba, we enjoy a traditional Jordanian feast, then visit the Archaeological Park, St. George Church and Museum. We make a brief stop at the Shobak Crusader Castle before continuing to Petra. We attend the incredible Petra by Night.
Welcome to the Rose City! Access to the city on our guided exploration is through the famous narrow, deep siq. The rocks then give way to the most amazing site – that of the Treasury. Explore more of Petra’s wonders today. Taking an alternate route to Petra, through the breathtaking “secret road” of al-Madras, and visiting the High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasa, Great Temple and Royal Tombs. In the evening we enjoy a cooking session and tasty meal at the Petra Kitchen.
