Day 1: Amman

Welcome to Jordan and the start of your holiday! Arrive into Amman airport and our friendly local team await to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Amman

This morning we visit Jerash, the world’s best-preserved Roman provincial city, built over 2,000 years ago and known as the ‘Pompeii of the East’. Here we visit the Forum, with its forest of towering columns, the arena, where the tracks of chariot wheels can still be seen, the souk area, Temple of Artemis and the South Theatre with its near-perfect acoustics. We continue on to Umm Qais , a dramatic black-basalt Roman city with panoramic views over the Sea of Galilee.

Day 3: Amman

Today, we tour the citadel, Archaeological Museum and enjoy free time in the local souq. After, we head out of the city to explore the desert castles of Qasr Amra and Qasr Kharanah, built in the 8th century.

Day 4: Amman - Dana N.R.

Today we explore the roman ruins and beautiful mosaics of Umm ar-Rasas. The mosaic floor of the Church of St Stephen dates to 785, over 150 years after Muslim rule was established in Jordan. After we visit Mt Nebo - the single most important biblical site in Jordan.Lastly, Madaba famed for it’s Byzantine mosaics, including the fascinating map of the Holy Land made in the 6th century out of two million stone pieces and now housed in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, Madaba - it's mosaics, quaint village shops and local market are all here to explore. We then drive to your lodgings in Dhana National Reserve.

Day 5: Dana N.R. - Petra

Today we enjoy 4 hours with your RSCN guide to enjoy trekking some of the great trails around the wadi below the village. Look out for ibex, gazelle and the sand cat. We then drive to Petra, but not without stop to visit Little Petra which is around ten minutes drive from the main entrance.

Day 6: Petra

Get ready to be amazed! All but lost to the modern world until 1812, Petra is a real archaeological gem, full of ancient tombs and ruins ripe for the modern-day discoverer. We access Petra on horseback, through the mysterious mile-long Siq which leads to the spectacular façade of the Treasury (of Indiana Jones fame). This is just the beginning of a day filled with true adventure, where we’ll explore amazing sights such as the Street of Facades, the Theatre, Colonnaded Street, Qasr al Bint and climb to the monastery of Ad Deir in the afternoon.

Day 7: Petra - Wadi Rum

This morning you will get to see more of Petras wonders entering from the secret entrance of Al Madras. After we drive to Wadi Rum for a 4x4 tour of the moonscape terrain which T. E. Lawrence described as “vast, echoing and God-like.” The desertscape of Wadi Rum is truly stunning with its ancient riverbeds and amazing eroded rock formations. Enjoy dinner under a blanket of stars at our remote desert camp.

Day 8: Wadi Rum - Aqaba

wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the desert formations. After breakfast, we drive south to the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba.

Days 9-10: Aqaba

Open your eyes this morning and take a peek out the window to the magical blue of the Red Sea. Sit back and relax for today and tomorrow by the pool sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun. Here you can opt to go snorkelling or diving, to view the amazing array of aquatic life in the nearby reefs.

Day 11: Aqaba - Amman

This morning, we explore the vast well preserved 12th century crusader castle of Al Karak. It took the Crusaders some twenty years to erect their fortified stronghold, which through the proceeding centuries withstood countless attack and siege. Once finished in 1161, it became the residence of the lord of Transjordan, by then the most important fief of the Crusader kingdom, rich in produce and tax revenues. Note: Shobak crusader castle may be visited as an alternative to Karak. We then descend to the lowest point on earth to a hotel on the shores of the Dead Sea to enjoy a dip in the healing waters, before driving to your hotel in Amman.

Day 12: Amman

Sadly your Jordanian adventure has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
