Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Cairo! Upon arrival at Cairo airport you will be transferred to yoiur hotel. Evening is at leisure.

Day 2: Cairo - Aswan

Embark on a full day tour to the Pyramids, Sphinx and Sakkara. You will then be transferred to Cairo train station where you will board the overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Day 3: Aswan

Good morning - Arrive in Aswan and transfer to your hotel. No time to settle in, you will be visiting the High Dam and Philae temple. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, the temple dates from 4th century BC but the Ptolomies and the Romans up to 3rd century AD built most of the existing structures.

Day 4: Aswan - Nile Cruising

After breakfast be amazed by the Abu Simbel excursion. The massive rock-cut temple of Abu Simbel never fails to impress. It's possibly the most awe-inspiring temple of all ancient Egypt, with its gargantuan intricately carved facade, created to revere the mighty pharaonic ruler King Ramses II. Guarding the entrance to the temple, the 4 colossal statues of Ramses II sit majestically staring out across the desert, seemingly since time began. Then transfer from Aswan airport to the Nile cruise.

Day 5: Nile Cruising

Enjoy sailing to Kom Ombo, then sail to Edfu then Luxor. Dinner and overnight on the Nile cruise.

Day 6: Nile Cruising

Today you will visit the West bank (Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple and Colossi of Memnon) Enjoy Lunch on board then basque in the sun with free time. Dinner and overnight on the Nile Cruiser.

Day 7: Nile Cruising - Cairo

Disembark the cruiser after breakfast. Option to sail over the temples in a Hot Air Balloon. Visit the East bank ( Karnak and Luxor temples) You will then tranfer to Luxor train station and board the overnight sleeper train to Cairo.

Day 8: Cairo

Good morning and welcome back to Cairo. Today you will visit the Egyptian museum guided by English speaking guide. Tonight is yours at leisure.

Day 9: Cairo - Dahab

Check out after breakfast and then transfer to Dahab by road. Today we cross the Suez Canal and travel onto Dahab, located on the Red Sea. Dahab has developed from a hippy village to a respected haven with a solid infrastructure for SCUBA divers, snorkellers and travellers seeking sun, sea and relaxation. The waterfront is dotted with laid back cafes, bars and shops, perfect for eating, drinking or relaxing with a little retail therapy.

Day 10: Dahab

Free day at leisure.

Day 12: Dahab - Madaba

This morning, we transfer to Taba/Nuweiba to take a private ferry crossing to Aqaba in Jordan. From Aqaba we commence our included excursion to the Dead Sea for lunch and a swim. Onward we explore Mt. Nebo - the single most important biblical site in Jordan. Having led the Israelites for 40 years through the wilderness, Moses finally saw from this panoramic vantage point, the Promised Land. We too can enjoy excellent views of the Jordan River Valley, the northern shore of the Dead Sea, Jericho and on clear days Jerusalem. We travel onto the bustling market town of Madaba

Day 13: Madaba - Petra

Explore Christian Madaba this morning before noon time transfer to Petra. The late afternoon offers free time. Choose to explore the town on foot, stop off at a cafe for a cup of rich dark arabian coffee, browse the village shops, pop into the 'Made in Jordan' store for quality hand made items or simply spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool. Tonight you will take a candlelit walk through the Siq by attending "Petra by night"

Day 14: Petra

Welcome to the Rose City! Access to the city on our guided exploration is through the famous narrow, deep siq. The rocks then give way to the most amazing site – that of the fantastically impressive Treasury. Walking down the gravel tracks, we’ll explore the ancient Nabatean tombs and the Roman rock-carved streets lined with temples, royal tombs, staircases, arched gates and public buildings. There is also a gigantic amphitheatre originally built to house 3000 spectators, though the Romans increased capacity to a whopping 7000. After the guided tour, you’re free to head off and further explore, haggle for a horse and chariot or just relax and take it all in.

Day 15: Petra - Wadi Rum

A free morning in Petra to further explore independently or with your guide. If following in the footsteps of our guide we enter the Nabataean city via the 'secret road' of al-Madras, and visit the High Place of Sacrifice for a panoramic view of the ancient city centre. Later this afternoon, we depart Petra and drive to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is our base for an exciting 4 x 4 desert safari. We’ll jump aboard open-top 4 x 4s for our sunny, sandy and scenic adventure into Jordan’s wilderness. Tonight, we’ll enjoy an included Bedouin dinner and bed down in our permanent tents surrounded by a galaxy of twinkeling stars and the striking desert landscape.

Day 16: Wadi Rum - Cairo

Free time, dependent upon ferry departure time. Later today we drive to Aqaba to cross the Gulf of Aqaba once again by private ferry and travel onward by road to Cairo.

Our tour concludes after breakfast and included departure transfer to the airport. Happy Travels!
