Day 1: Amman

Welcome to Jordan and the start of your holiday! Arrive into Amman and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Amman

This morning we visit Jerash, the world’s best-preserved Roman provincial city, built over 2,000 years ago. Here we visit the Forum, the arena, where the chariot wheel tracks can still be seen, the Temple of Artemis and the South Theatre. We continue to Umm Qais, a dramatic black-basalt Roman city with panoramic views over the Sea of Galilee.

Day 3: Amman - Petra

Today, we tour the citadel, Archaeological Museum and enjoy free time in the local souq. We then have time for a dip in the Dead Sea before we head down to Petra.

Day 4: Petra

Welcome to the Rose City! Access to the city on our guided exploration is through the famous narrow, deep siq. The rocks then give way to the most amazing site – that of the Treasury. We’ll explore the ancient Nabatean tombs and the Roman rock-carved streets lined with temples, royal tombs, staircases, arched gates, public buildings.

Day 5: Petra - Wadi Rum

This morning you have the option to revisit Petra in your own time before we drive you to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is a vast, silent landscape of ancient riverbeds, pastel coloured stretches of sandy desert and amazing eroded rock formations that rise from the desert floor. We camp with the semi-nomadic Bedouin and enjoy a Jordanian dinner tonight.

Day 6: Wadi Rum - Madaba

Striking south along the Kings Highway, we stop off at the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba. Taking in a short city tour we head onward via Wadi Araba to Lot’s cave and explore the crumbling ruins of an ancient monastery. A short distance away we visit Mt Nebo, where we take in views of the Promised Land.

Day 7: Madaba - Jerusalem

This morning you’ll be picked up at 9:00am and transferred to the Jordanian border where after immigration formalities you will transfer by public shuttle bus over the border into Israel, here you’ll be met by a driver and transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the ancient city of Jerusalem – a World Heritage site.

Day 8: Jerusalem

This morning we drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. Enter the Old City through the Armenian and Jewish quarters to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman road. We visit the Jewish Wailing Wall, and continue to the Christian quarter and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Later today we visit Bethlehem, Rachel’s tomb Church of Nativity and Manger’s square. Return to Jerusalem hotel.

Day 9: Jerusalem

Depart Tiberias to visit Nazareth via Cana of Galilee. Visit the Church of Annunciation, St. Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Continue to Acre to visit the ancient city and harbor. Drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of the ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Return to Jerusalem for the night.

Day 10: Jerusalem

We will transfer you to back to Amman and on to the airport in time for your departure flight (please make sure you have an evening flight).
