Day 1: Tel Aviv - Jerusalem

Welcome to Tel Aviv and the start of your journey through Israel and its neighbours. Meeting your guide and transport head out to visit the Valley of Elah, which is the place described in the Bible where the Israelites were encamped when David fought Goliath. Then off to Jerusalem, where we explore the Israel Museum, followed with a visit to the lovely village of Ein Karem and finally Yad Vashem where the victims of the Holocaust are remembered.

Day 2: Jerusalem

Start the day with a visit to Bethany on the Israel side to the site where Jesus is said to of been baptized. Next is Masada, a UNESCO-listed fortress situated on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. We ascend by cable car to the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Here we visit the excavations of King Herod’s palace, the synagogue and bathhouse. We’ll also see the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and enjoy a dip in the sea itself' Last stop of the day, Jericho, the lowest permanently inhabited site on earth as well as being considered to be the world's oldest city.

Day 3: Jerusalem

Begin the day with a trip to the Mount of Olives for splendid views of Jerusalem. After, we make our way to Mount Zion to visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. Spend the rest of the afternoon in Bethlehem visiting the Church of the Nativity and enjoying the views of Shepherds’ Fields.

Day 4: Jerusalem

After breakfast today we head to the spectacular Old City through one of the fabled gates. Within its mighty walls we explore the renewed Jewish Quarter, the 2,000 year old Western Wall, Via Dolorosa – the route that Jesus is believed to have taken as he carried his cross to Calvary, and the Stations of the Cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the holiest Christian site in the Old City.

Day 5: Jerusalem

This morning we visit The Garden Tomb located in Jerusalem, outside the city walls and close to the Damascus Gate, is a rock-cut tomb which was unearthed in 1867 and has subsequently been considered by some Christians to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. The afternoon is then at your leisure to explore.

Day 6: Jerusalem

Todays exploration brings us to the bustling areas of the town including Ben Yehudah and Mahane Yehuda Market. The remainder of the day is then at your leisure to explore.

Day 7: Jerusalem - Tiberias

Leaving Jerusalem we drive toward the coast to visit Caesarea, one of the great cities of antiquity and Megiddo, the location of many ancient battles and the city referred to in the book of Revelation as ‘Armageddon’. Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. We continue on to Nazareth, the city where Jesus spent his childhood, where we visit the Church of Annunciation, Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church. After a busy day on the go we arrive at your hotel in Tiberias.

Day 8: Tiberias

First stop today is the archaeological site of Banias. After, we visit Capernaum, an ancient fishing village and the centre of Jesus’ ministry. In Tabgha, the site where Christ miraculously fed the 5,000, we see the wonderful mosaic floor of the Church of Multiplication before continuing to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the ‘Sermon on the Mount’. Ascending to the rocky plateau of the Golan Heights we enjoy panoramic views of the rugged peaks of Mount Hermon with the green pastoral Huleh valley stretching out below.

Day 9: Tiberias - Petra

This morning bid farewell to our Israel team and you are driven to the Sheikh Hussein Bridge where you will be dropped off to pass through the border control. Arriving into Jordan, our Jordanian team await to take you to visit Jerash. Built over 2,000 years ago, Jerash is widely regarded as the best-preserved city of the Decapolis, a confederation of 10 Roman cities dating from the 1st century! We’ll explore the site taking in the colonnaded street, amphitheatre, nymphaeum, forum and more before continuing to your hotel in Petra.

Day 10: Petra - Wadi Rum

Get ready to be amazed! We access Petra on horseback, through the mysterious mile-long Siq which leads to the spectacular façade of the Treasury (of Indiana Jones fame). This is just the beginning of a day filled with true adventure, where we’ll explore amazing sights such as the Street of Facades, the Theatre, Colonnaded Street and Qasr al Bint. After, drive to Wadi Rum for a 2 hour 4x4 tour of the moonscape terrain which T. E. Lawrence described as “vast, echoing and God-like.” Arriving at our remote desert camp enjoy the permanent tents all nice and cosy and a hearty local feast.

Day 11: Wadi Rum - Madaba

In the morning we head to the Red Sea port of Aqaba where you embark a glass bottom boat to see the amazing corals living below, those willing will be able to jump in and have a snorkel to join the fishes. After, we drive to Madaba (TIME PERMITTING a visit will be made to see Mt Nebo and in town St Georges Church with the famous map of the Holy Land.

Day 12: Madaba

Early in the morning we take you to the airport for your flight to Cairo, where on arrival our Egypt team await. Today in Cairo, visit the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau, enjoy a hearty buffet lunch cruising on the NIle and then have a look at the fascinating Museum of antiquities in downtown before returning to the airport for your flight home.
