Pyramid at Giza

Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt's capital and Africa's largest city: Cairo. Upon arrival you will be met and guided through passport control. After essential airport formalities you will be transferred directly to your pre booked hotel for your time in Cairo. Upon reaching the hotel we will assist with your check-in and then the evening is yours to relax and freshen up.

Day 2: Cairo - Luxor

A big day out at the pyramids and sphinx at Giza then a visit to the ancient tomb-strewn necropolis at Saqqara. We later enjoy a chance to relax, freshen up and have dinner. Tonight, we travel to Luxor by overnight train.

Day 3: Luxor

Arrive and check into our hotel. There's time to explore Luxor on foot following the waterside corniche or maybe stop for drink at one of the many Nile side cafes and tea houses. Tonight, why not take our optional tour to the Temple of Luxor at night. The rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 4: Luxor

You can opt to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon first thing this morning before we visit Luxor’s famous West Bank. The twin seated statues known as the Colossi of Memnon are the first site we'll see before we visit the legendary Valleys of the Kings and the imposing limestone, colonnaded Temple of Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut was one of only 3 Egyptian ruling queens. The most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings is that of the boy-King Tutankhamen. Archaeologist Howard Carter discovered his intact and treasure -filled tomb in 1922. After exploring the West Bank we take a break before visiting the colossal Temple of Karnak. The rest of the day is at leisure. .

Days 5-7: Luxor - Hurghada

Luxor - Hurghada. Departing Luxor we head east to Hurghada part of the beautiful Red Sea Riviera for 2 days on the beach at your leisure. Overnight Hurghada

Day 8: Hurghada - Cairo

Hurghada - Cairo. It's an early start today, as we head back to Cairo. We'll be leaving around 7am for our 5 - 6 hour journey back to the capital. Once we arrive in Cairo we will head to the famous Egyptian Museum for a guided tour where you can see the famed solid gold death mask of King Tutankhamen and opt to visit the Royal Mummy room. Spend the remaining hours of the afternoon and evening at your own leisure - the Khan el-Khalili bazaar is a wonderful place to find lavish tobacco pipes, pharaonic tat, belly dancing costumes, carpets and spices.

Day 9: Cairo - Wadi Rum

Today you shall be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Amman. Upon arrival into Amman, we transfer to our On The Go vehicle and travel on to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum - a vast, silent landscape of pastel coloured sketches of sandy desert punctuated by amazing rock formations known as jebels. Here we'll undertake a 4x4 desert safari, before tucking into a Bedouin dinner at our desert camp. Bed tonight is under a galaxy of stars or in tents.

Day 10: Wadi Rum - Petra

Wadi Rum - Petra. After breakfast at our desert camp we travel on to Petra through the breathtaking 'secret road' of Al Madras. Tonight, it may be possible to take a candlelit walk through the Siq by booking the atmospheric 'Petra by Night' excursion (book locally).

Day 11: Petra

Welcome to the Rose City! Access to the city on our guided exploration is through the famous narrow, deep siq. The rocks then give way to the most amazing site – that of the fantastically impressive Treasury. Walking down the gravel tracks, we’ll explore the ancient Nabatean tombs and the Roman rock-carved streets lined with temples, royal tombs, staircases, arched gates and public buildings and more.

Day 12: Petra - Madaba

Petra - Mt Nebo -Dead Sea - Madaba. This morning we travel to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth's surface for lunch and a chance to bob around in the buoyant mineral rich waters and smother ourselves in mud! Next stop is holy Mt Nebo - the single most important Biblical site in Jordan. Having led the Israelites for 40 years through the wilderness, it is from this panoramic vantage point, that Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land. We too can enjoy excellent views of the Jordan River Valley, the northern shore of the Dead Sea, Jericho and on clear days, Jerusalem. We travel on to the bustling Christian market town of Madaba, where we spend the night

Day 13: Madaba

Madaba – Amman airport - breakfast. If time permits, explore Madaba independently before hotel check-out and an included departure transfer to Amman’s Queen Alia Airport.
