Welcome to Jordan and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours. Upon your arrival at Amman's international airport you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel for check in. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Today you will see the city of Amman in-depth highlights include the Citadel, Archaeological Museum and the Souq. In the afternoon we drive out to the desert castles to visit Qasr Amra and Qasr Kharanah. Return to Amman for overnight.
This morning head out to visit Um Qais (Biblical Gadara), the dramatic black-basalt Roman Decapolis city overlooking the Golan Heights and Sea of Galilee. Drive through the Jordan Valley and up into the Dibeen National Forest to tour Qallat ar-Rabadh, Ajlun's Crusader-era Saracen Castle. In nearby Jerash, we tour the world's best-preserved Roman provincial city before returning to Amman for the night.
Departing Amman this morning we head out to Mt. Nebo to enjoy spectacular views of the Promised Land and continue to Madaba to see the Byzantine churches and their impressive mosaics. Our journey continues down the fabled King's Highway to the Crusader castle at Karak for a visit before continuing on to Petra for overnight.
Welcome to the Rose City! Access to the city on our guided exploration is through the famous narrow, deep siq. The rocks then give way to the most amazing site – that of the fantastically impressive Treasury. Walking down the gravel tracks, we’ll explore the ancient Nabatean tombs and the Roman rock-carved streets lined with temples, royal tombs, staircases, arched gates, public buildings and more the intrepid can ascend to Ad Deir better known as the monestery. You have a ticket for a second day in Petra today, exploring at leisure. You might like to try the adventurous Tunnel Siq to get into or out of the site, or take in some of the churches and their amazing mosaics. A climb to the Place of High Sacrifice is tiring, but rewarded with amazing views and temples, as is the hike up to Aaron’s Tomb.
This morning we drive you to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is a vast, silent landscape of ancient riverbeds, pastel coloured stretches of sandy desert and amazing eroded rock formations that rise from the desert floor. The region is also home to semi-nomadic Bedouin living in their great goat hair tents. Tonight we enjoy a traditional BBQ Jordanian dinner at your desert camp.
Enjoy breakfast in the surrounds of the desert before we depart Wadi Rum and transfer you to Aqaba on the Red Sea. Alternatively, opt for our Bedouin Style Wadi Rum enhance option and meander through the desert on the back of a camel. Upon your arrival, check in to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.
The next two days are completely at leisure for you to enjoy the Red Sea and hotel facilities.
Departing Aqaba this morning we travel via Wadi Araba road to the Dead Sea. Descending from elevation, the Dead Sea is the lowest spot on the earth’s surface. Hotel check in upon arrival with the remainder of the day at leisure.
Sink or swim? There is no chance of either occurring at the Dead Sea. The mineral-rich Dead Sea offers bathers ultimate buoyancy to the point where you will feel like a cork bobbing about! Take a dip in the mineral-rich waters. In addition and perhaps famously, the intense salinity creates an unusually high degree of buoyancy. Opt for a dip, and you will bob about like a rubber duck in a bath, without any effort at all. No life rings needed here. Next two days at leisure.
Today marks the end of your adventure with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer to Amman's international airport for your onward departure flight. End of services.
