Spend a long weekend tantalising your taste buds and your senses - learning to cook delicious Moroccan cuisine and exploring the vibrant medina and souks of captivating Marrakech!

Day 1: Marrakech
This holiday is a rare treat, a privileged journey to the soul of the country’s sensational food, prepared as it has been for centuries. No fusion cooking, no fancy equipment, just traditional delicious Moroccan cuisine.The cooking course is wonderfully relaxed. Working alongside a Berber cook, you’ll learn to cook the Moroccan way. You’ll prepare a slow tagine of meat or vegetables, you’ll grill marinated fish over charcoal and make melt in your mouth meats in the mechoui. While the food is slowly cooking, you can doze and then dine al-fresco. You’ll be taken by your enchanting host Abderrazak, around the souks; meet the fabled spice merchants and even see couscous being rolled by the local women. And to top off this laden platter, the food at the riad is outstandingly good and you will dine memorably.

Arrive in Marrakech where you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the riad in Marrakech's medina. Dinner will be at a nearby recommended local restaurant tonight. For those arriving on a late flight this evening a light supper will be served at the riad. Dinner and overnight - Marrakech Overnight - Marrakech (D)

Day 2: The sights of Marrakech
Enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech's bustling medina, visit Djemaa el Fna, the exuberant and enchanting market place and explore the souk, where you can shop, potter, pick up jewellery, pottery and artefacts. Spend the afternoon at leisure and if you wish to swim at a nearby pool then this can be arranged by the manager of the riad.

In the late afternoon prepare Tangia – the slow cooked dish of Marrakech, which you’ll then take along to the oven where the locals take their food. Back at the riad watch a couscous and dessert demonstration by our Berber cook and when the Tangia returns, relax and enjoy the your meal in the caidal tent on the terrace that evening. Day 3: Cooking up a Tagine
Today you’ll be taken to the Mellah food market and to visit the spice merchants. Back at the riad prepare a feast of tagines and salads to be eaten for lunch or later that evening, the choice is yours! If you did not get to eat dinner in the recommended local restaurant on the evening of Day 1 then this is the night to visit the restaurant. Overnight - Marrakech (B, D)
Day 4: Recipes in Hand
Depart the riad with your return transfer to the airport. (B)

Includes: 6 nights accommodation including breakfast. Welcome dinner at a restaurant or the riad depending on arrival time, 4 cooking sessions followed by a meal which you’ve prepared. An excursion into the countryside with picnic lunch. Escorted shopping trips to local markets for ingredients. Couscous demonstration by your traditional Berber cook.
