Day 1: Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco and the start of your honeymoon! Upon arrival we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your Riad for the evening. Overnight Riad Samsara.

Day 2: Marrakech

Spend the morning with the Marrakech town guide to get an overview of this wonderful city and its bustling souks. Stretching over the medieval part of Marrakech, the souks are winding streets of stalls and small businesses. Interspersed are palaces, madrassa (Qur'anic schools) and many cafes and restaurants. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the Marrakech at your own speed. Overnight Riad Samsara.

Day 3: Marrakech - Essaouira

This morning journey Essaouira, about 2.5 hrs away from Marrakech. Essaouira is a quiet seaside town with a long beach, an interesting little medina with souks and a grand harbour and fortifications. It's the perfect place to relax either on the beach or in a cafe on the square, or just watching the fishing boats coming in and out of the harbour. Essaouira has avoided becoming a tourist trap and maintains the original charm which made it a firm favourite with many legendary stars, including Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and Orson Welles who filmed Othello in Essaouira. Overnight Riad Mimouna.

Day 4: Essaouira - Ait Benhaddou

Today we drive into the rugged High Atlas mountains where you can admire the views en route to the famous UNESCO Listed kasbah of Ait benhaddou, which is situated in Souss-Massa-Draa on a hill along the Ouarzazate River. Films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth and more recently, Gladiator were all filmed at Ait Benhaddou, which was once a significant stop for traders carrying gold, salt and slaves along the famous Southern Caravan route moving through the Sahara. Overnight Kasbah Ellouze.

Day 5: Ait Benhaddou - Todra Gorge

Next head to the spectacular Todra Gorge. This rugged red canyon is just 10m wide at its narrowest point, with its cliff walls towering above at 300m high and a small glacier stream flowing through it. Relax a while or opt to scale the cliffs with a spot of rock climbing, or if its summer go horse riding. All optionals can be booked and paid locally.

Day 6: Todra Gorge

Today is a free day to relax or to enjoy your independant activities.

Day 7: Todra Gorge - Erg Chebbi

Today we travel to the great sand dune Erg Chebbi and camp out overnight.

Day 8: Erg Chebbi - Fes

Perhaps climb up Erg Chebbi before dawn to see the sunrise over the dunes, or enjoy a a lie in and opt to take a camel trek across the rolling sand dunes later in the afternoon. Take a long but very scenic drive today, heading north from the desert and up into the High Atlas past the Ziz Gorge. Finally we descend into Ifrane (a swiss style town and ski resort)and continue onward to Fes. Overnight Riad dar El bartal.

Day 9: Fes

Fes is the oldest and largest medieval city in the world and a bustling hive of activity. This morning take a guided tour around the incredible, old medina - a heady mix of aromas, sounds and sights from the tanneries, spice tubs, pottery and donkeys! Enjoy free time in the afternoon to explore independently.

Day 10: Fes

Today is a free day for you to relax or explore independantly.

Day 11: Fes - Rabat

Today we leave Fes to see the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis, past the fields of lentils and chickpeas, into the hills around this well preserved city where its possible to explore the mosaics and forum. After lunch you pass Moulay Idriss and set off for Rabat. Spend the night in the Capital of Morocco.

Day 12: Rabat

Sadly all good things come to an end and it's time to head home with your departure transfer to Casablanca airport.
