Day 1: Marrakech

Welcome to Marrakesh. On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to hotel Riad les Princesses to check-in and freshen up. Later we meet in hotel lobby at 6pm and proceed to Djemma El Fna for some evening exploration and then will enjoy our first taste of delicious local cuisine over dinner at one of the roof top restaurants surrounding the Djemma. After dinner there will be a brief on what to expect technically from your photography tour and some relevant trip notes.

Day 2: Marrakech - Dades Gorge

After an early breakfast we will be on the road by 7:00am to explore the Dades Gorge and its Kasbahs. Arriving at the gorge sometime in the mid to late afternoon we will photograph the stunning architecture and local colours. Our tuition will cover panoramic techniques and pictures. Later we check into our hotel, freshen up and then there will be a two to three hour photography lecture covering technical as well creative aspects.

Day 3: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge

Setting off early we drive along the Valley of the Roses to the Todra Gorge, stopping for landscape and architectural images and local colour, palmeries, wadi and kasbah landscapes. Subject to opportunity we will try to photograph local people with tuition en route covering tips on how to approach people without causing offence. After dinner some more anecdotal talks and techie tips will follow, and perhaps even a slide show for those interested.

Day 4: Todra Gorge - Erg Chebbi

After breakfast we will head for a photo safari in Todra Gorge – mostly looking for landscape images. We will then continue our drive to Erg Chebbi, with a picnic lunch along the way and an estimated arrival of 2-3pm and into the dunes for the afternoon light. Taking our sturdy camels we will reach the Berber Camp and experiment with deserts shots using our camels and Berber riders as props. There will be plenty of time for an evening photo talk after dinner and possibly a star trails photography expedition.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi - Ait Benhaddou

After a morning photography session experimenting with the dunes and sunlight we settle into a good breakfast before driving on to Ait Benhaddou to arrive by approx. 4pm. There will be more photo opportunities before a local dinner at the hotel and the rest of the evening will be free.

Day 6: Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

This morning we take photos of the legendary Ait Benhaddou - a fortified city situated along the caravan route before driving into the heart of the High Atlas to the lost palace of the Glaoui at telouet for a chance to photograph the palace and the berber villages nearby. Continuing on to Marrakech we can enjoy an afternoon shooting on the Djemma el Fna practicing all our newly learnt photography skills. Enjoy a dinner in a local restaurant and some evening photography around the souks and night markets. (Overnight Riad les Princesses)

Day 7: Marrakech - Rabat

En-route this morning we travel up to Casablanca. Made famous by Humphrey Bogart in the film “Casablanca”. Here we visit the stunning Hassan II mosque, which has the tallest minaret and the third largest mosque in the world, it can hold 25,000 worshippers at any one time. We then head straight to Rabat to enjoy the evening atmosphere of Morocco’s capital city.

Day 8: Rabat

We will spend the morning in Morocco’s capital city Rabat to visit Oudaia Kasbah, Hassan tower, the Royal Palace and Chellah. After lunch we will move on to the third of our Imperial cities Meknes to enjoy some free time.

Day 9: Rabat - Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a tour of the Roman ruins at Volubilis, the largest ancient site of Morocco. UNESCO-listed, the site dates back to AD40 and once ruled the entire Roman province of Mauritania. We’ll then head on to Chefchaouen for a guided tour this afternoon. High up in the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen boasts a beautiful blue door and white-walled medina that was originally a Berber post. The main square is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the Kasbah (built back in the 18th century), central mosque and cafes with authentic menus. The busy market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist fare.

Day 10: Chefchaouen

Enjoy some free time in Chefchaouen this morning - relax at the hotel or spend your time exploring this beautiful city.

Day 11: Chefchaouen - Fes

Morning drive to Fes which is the oldest and largest medieval city in the world, and its medina is a heady mix of aromas, sounds and sights so you have an array of Photo opportunities.

Day 12: Fes

Today we embark on a fully guided tour of the city of Fes. Explore the tanneries, souks, potteries, and the Medina, and learn the fascinating history of the city.

Day 13: Fes - High Atlas

Today we head back toward Marrakech stopping en route in the western high atlas national park - After check in enjoy a walking tour to the waterfalls.

Day 14: High Atlas - Marrakech

After a morning horse ride into the surrounding valleys we drive back to Marrakech - This evening enjoy a farewell dinner. (Overnight Riad les Princesses)

Day 15: Marrakech

We will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
