Arrival in Marrakech airport where you will be met by the On the Go guide and transferred to your hotel or riad in the centre of town. Meet your guide for a tour briefing and then spend the rest of the day at leisure.
This morning enjoy a guided tour or Marrakech, taking in all of the highlights of the Medina (old city centre) - the Koutoubia Mosque, palaces, souks and the old mellah (Jewish quarter). In the afternoon perhaps a visit to the peaceful Jardins de Majorelle to relax
Travel across the plains and past the small hills or Jblets to Casablanca, the business centre of Morocco. In the afternoon visit the Hassan II mosque and the quartier Habous. Enjoy the evening at leisure to explore or relax at your hotel.
Travel along the coast to Rabat. Along the way you have the chance to see the the grand 17th century palace which is now a museum, and the 12th century mosque. In the imperial city of Meknes, see Bab el-Mansour, one of the most impressive monumental gateways in North Africa. Arrive later in Fez, the symbolic heart of Morocco and the country’s oldest imperial city.
Explore the médina, one of the largest thriving medieval centres in the world, during your morning sightseeing tour of Fe. You will see the Royal Palace and visit the fascinating dye-pits and tanneries for a unique insight into this ancient practice. Spend the rest of the day seeing the sights of your choice, perhaps shop for beautiful carpets and unique souvenirs in the bustling and fascinating bazaar.
Follow the old caravan trail south. Stop for lunch in Midelt, a market town set in the high plains between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Continue along the palm-fringed Ziz Valley, famous for date cultivation, to the Tafilalt oasis on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Arrival to the edge of the sahara and transfer to your trusty, though some would beg to differ camels to ride into the desert. Arriving at camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy dinner under a blanket of stars.
Today we travel west to Tinghir, one of the most beautiful oases in southern Morocco. Continue through part of the Todra Gorge and cut through the mountains for one of the most dramatic views in the country. Follow the route of a thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, the setting for a number of famous movies including Lawrence of Arabia, Cleopatra and Gladiator.
Today a visit to Aït Ben Haddou in the High Atlas Mountains. Continue through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass to Marrakech - the ‘Red City’. There may be a chance to see the palace of the Galoui at telouet in the heart of the mountains before the descent to the Marrakech plains.
