Day 1: Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! A country steeped in history and culture. Arrival transfer from Marrakech airport to our hotel. Our hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old medina offering you the opportunity to explore the rambling souk, local sights and Djemaa el Fna (the main square).

Day 2: Marrakech

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of old Marrakech. Set within the rose-coloured walls of the medina and a tangle of winding streets lead to bustling souks, the focal point is the central square, the Djemaa el Fna, an extraordinary gathering and market place. Towering over all this is the Koutoubia mosque, the tallest building in the city and a reminder of the importance of Islam to the lives of the city’s residents. The town guide will stay with you this afternoon, taking you to photographic sites within this stunning city.

Day 3: Marrakech - Essaouira

We will head for Essaouira today, with a stop en route at a women's Cooperative at Argan, home of the Argan plantations. On arrival in Essaouira we will check you into the hotel and then take you on a city tour of the town and harbour and an opportunity to see women in their traditional haik dress. Overnight - Riad Thais.

Day 4: Essaouira - Taroudant

Today we drive south past Agadir to the southern city of Taroudant, a charming town with ruddy, clay houses, minarets and groves of oranges and pomegranates, with a backdrop of the frosted High Atlas to the north and the Anti-Atlas to the south. The souks are not large but they are varied; there is a strong tradition of local craft and much of the work here is of outstanding quality. Overnight - Riad Maryam.

Day 5: Taroudant

Today you will have a guide to take you on a visit of the town, seeing the local crafts in the 2 souks and the picturesque city that is contained within the old city walls. Overnight - Riad Maryam.

Day 6: Taroudant - Ouarzazate

We travel along the southern slopes of the High Atlas and Siroua mountains, past the saffron fields of Telouine to Ouarzazate. The town is chiefly inhabited by Berbers, who constructed many of the prominent kasbahs and buildings for which the area is known. Overnight - Petit Villa.

Day 7: Ouarzazate - Merzouga

Travel to the dunes of Merzouga via the Gorge du Dades and the Valley of the Roses. Tonight your Auberge is the foot of the dunes of the famous Sahara Desert.

Day 8: Merzouga

Our guide will take you to visit some of the desert communities and villages in this Saharan region, where you will see a different way of life.

Day 9: Merzouga - Midelt

Travel over the High Atlas , past the Gorge du Ziz and try and visit some nomadic camps on the way for photographs.

Day 10: Midelt - Fes

Today we will transfer you over the high Atlas, past Ifrane and the cedar forests, heading to Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is believed to be one of the world's largest car-free urban areas

Day 11: Fes

Fes is the oldest and largest medieval city in the world and a bustling hive of activity. This morning take a guided tour around the incredible, old medina - a heady mix of aromas, sounds and sights from the tanneries, spice tubs, pottery and donkeys! This afternoon our guide will help you to find the best photographic opportunities in this vibrant town.

Day 12: Fes

Your trip through Morocco ends today with the transfer to the airport.
