Day 1: Marrakech

Upon arrival at Marrakech airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Hotel Ryad Mogador Menara (1 family room) (B)

Day 2: Marrakech - Ouarzazate

Leaving Marrakech, we drive over the stunning High Atlas mountains on the way to Ouarzazate, which used to be the crossing point for African traders heading to the northern cities in Morocco, or travelling up into Europe. Overnight Les Jardins de Ouarzazate (2 twin rooms) (B)

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Todra Gorge

We continue our journey this morning, driving on to the stunning Todra Gorge, a narrow rose red canyon with towering 300m high walls. Discover the charm of Todra today as you witness it’s ever changing colours on a light walk. Overnight Hotel Tomboctou (2 twin rooms) (B)

Day 4: Todra Gorge - Merzouga

Crossing the Jebel Sarhro, we head down to Erg Chebbi sand dunes this morning, which signify the commencement of the mighty Sahara Desert. Transferring to trusty camels, we trek sedately across the vast rolling sand dunes of the Sahara to our remote Berber camp - an experience that is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on travellers young and old! Enjoy a relaxing afternoon and evening in the desert; scale the towering dunes and watch a breathtaking sunset, before listening to Berber music and enjoying some tasty local food. Camp out tonight under the glittering Saharan stars. Overnight Desert Camp (B, D)

Day 5: Merzouga - Midelt

Head over the High Atlas mountains from the sahara and see the Gorge du Ziz before reaching the plateau between the two great mountain ranges of the High and Middle Atlas. At various times of the year it is possible to see the Nomads and their flocks. Overnight Kasbah Taddert (2 twin rooms) (B)

Day 6: Midelt - Fes

Travel from Midelt to the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas reaching the Middle Atlas mountains and the cedar forests where it is still possible if lucky, to catch sight of one of the monkeys that live there. Travel onwards to Fes. Overnight Fes Inn (2 twin rooms) (B)

Day 7: Fes

Morning guided tour of Fes and afternoon free to explore Fes further on your own. Overnight Fes Inn (2 twin rooms) (B)

Day 8: Fes - Marrakech

Depart from Fes to the Roman city of Volubilis and a chance to explore this site before heading via Meknes and Casablanca to Marrakech. Overnight Hotel Ryad Mogador Menara (1 family room) (B)

Day 9: Marrakech

We enjoy some free time again this morning at the hotel near Ait Benhaddou, before heading on our way for an incredible journey over the Atlas mountains. Arriving late afternoon in Marrakech. This evening consider heading for dinner at one of the restaurants overlooking Djemaa el Fna, the exuberant market place which literally springs to life in the evenings. Filled with spicy aromas, exotic music, market stalls, snake charmers, magicians, storytellers and more, it is undoubtedly the liveliest and most captivating attraction in Morocco! Day 10: Marrakech

This morning we take a guided tour around the city, exploring the winding streets and bustling souks, visiting Bahia Palace and the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque - the landmark of Marrakech, which towers over the ancient medina. The afternoon is free for a spot of souvenir shopping in the souks, or a final opportunity to soak up the sunshine by the pool. Day 11: Marrakech - Essaouira

This morning we take a public bus to Essaouira. The medina surrounded by a fortress with 5 main gates you can navigate by, has retained its traditional styles and is laden with quirky shops, coffee houses, antiques, art studios, calligraphers, t-shirt designers and souvenir curios. There’s a relaxed feel to the place and shopping here is a real delight. Locals and visitors alike enjoy strolling along the ramparts as the sun sets. The port is a hive of activity with fishing boats hauling in their daily catch. Overnight Hotel Miramar (2 twin rooms) (B)

Day 12: Essaouira

With a laid-back feel Essaouira is Morocco’s hippest coastal town. The windswept fishing port, broad beaches and ancient walled medina with ramparts built into the cliff have long been a favourite refuge for artists, sculptors, food lovers, surfers and backpackers. Enjoy a free day relaxing on the beach, topping up your tan, shopping in the quaint village souk or choose from a number of exciting optional activities such as quad biking, horse riding, surfing or wind surfing available about town (book and pay locally). Day 13: Essaouira - Marrakech

This morning offers free time for you relax or seize the opportunity for one last dip in the Atlantic. After lunch we return to delightful Marrakech (by public bus) for the final night. Spend the morning relaxing or picking up a few last minute souvenirs. Our tour concludes upon hotel check out at 12 noon.
