Today we travel to Chefchaouen, the “blue” city in the Rif Mountains, and a haven of tranquillity and peace, a beautiful blue door and white walled medina that was originally a Berber post. Spend time this afternoon exploring with our expert guide.
This morning we take the road through the mountains to UNESCO listed Fes - the world's oldest medieval city. Along the way we will stop to explore the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis, pass the fields of lentils and chickpeas, into the hills around this well preserved city where its possible to explore the mosaics and forum.
Fes is the oldest and largest medieval city in the world and a bustling hive of activity. This morning take a guided tour around the incredible, old medina - a heady mix of aromas, sounds and sights from the tanneries, spice tubs, pottery and donkeys! Enjoy free time in the afternoon to explore independently.
Spend a day at leisure in Fes to see the souks and sights of the city. There are plenty of mosques and palaces to visit and looking down on the old quarter from the surrounding hills is quite an experience.
This morning we journey over the Middle Atlas to Midelt, which is a beautiful alpine area. Surrounded by huge pine trees, this tranquil mountain setting is a great spot to cool down and relax after the hustle and bustle of Fes. This afternoon we soak up the scenery on a short hike.
Today we enjoy a scenic drive as we head towards the great desert and Merzouga. Here we climb aboard our camels for an incredible trek into the Sahara Desert to watch a beautiful sunset and spend the night at our remote luxury camp nestled amongst the towering dunes. We enjoy local food, music and an amazing night out under a blanket of stars.
Leaving the desert, we travel on to Todra Gorge. This 1000ft gorge is surrounded by towering vertical limestone cliffs and is known as Morocco’s Grand Canyon. The charm of Todra lies in its changing colours as the sun slowly moves from east to west. There is time to explore the gorge with our guide then check into your hotel to relax.
This morning we make our way to your next destination, stopping along the way to take a hike in the scenic Dades Gorge and perhaps make stops to have tea in small berber villages. By the afternoon we will arrive into Ouarzazate. Here, we visit Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified city, boasting beautiful examples of Kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited today. Granted UNESCO World Heritage Listing, the site has been the setting for many films including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Overnight in the Ouarzazate, the film capital of Morocco
Today we make our way from the passes of the High Atlas mountains to the flat plain of Haouz and into Marrakech.
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, taking in all of the main attractions including the palace and Koutoubia mosque. This afternoon is free for you to wander around the bustling souks or simply relax.
Spend the day at leisure in Marrakech. Perhaps visit the Jardin Majorelle or maybe take a caleche ride out into the new town to see the Gueliz district and the Mohamed VI Avenue with its luxury cafes and theatre.
Leaving this morning for the 2.5 hour transfer across the plains surrounding Marrakech to the Argan orchards and scrub maquis-type vegetation around Essaouira. Spend the afternoon exploring the charming medina or simply lazing on the beach
This morning you'll be transferred to Casablanca along the Atlantic coast, passing long beaches and small fishing villages of Safi and Al Jadida. Upon arrival in Casablanca there is a chance to see the Hassan II mosque, before settling into your hotel.
The sightseeing continues today – taking the short journey to Rabat, the Capital of Morocco and the second largest city after Casablanca. Spend the morning exploring this peaceful city and the ancient medina, with it's pretty white and stone washed buildings. We then head back to Casablanca Airport in time for your evening flight onward.
