Day 1: Olkhon Island Transfer from Irkutsk to Olkhon Island - it will be a morning transfer by car with the guide, about 250 km, then ferry to Olkhon Island. The local family you will stay with have Russian old style izbas (bungalows) that you will stay in. Day 2: Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal Olkhon Island is the largest island (72 km long) on Lake Baikal, 350km north east of Irkutsk. The island boasts some of the most beautiful flora, fauna and breathtaking landscapes in the region. Khuzhir villiage is the largest settlement with a few thousand residents and an ideal spot to take in the wood and log cabin style architecture of the island. Take the time to browse through the shops and market filled with locally grown fruit, vegetables, handicrafts and curios or enjoy coffee and cake at one of the quaint little cafes.
Day 3: Olkhon Island Time for your stay on Olkhon Island to come to an end, with the ferry back and your guide with the driver will pick you up and take you back to Irkutsk.
