Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday)
Breakfast. All aboard for the Trans-Siberian! Departing to the train station we head out to Siberia’s largest train station and board the train that covers the world’s longest route. A third of the globe is covered, although we will be traveling just a short (ish!!) section. Heading east to Irkutsk and Lake Baikal. Overnight - train

Day 2 (Sunday)
Aboard train. Sit back, relax, enjoy the view, meet fellow travellers, sleep, play cards, read - take your pick as you settle into life on board. Overnight - train 

Day 3 (Monday)
07.00 Arrival in Irkutsk and breakfast. Transfer to our hotel for the night for a chance to stretch out and freshen up. After some relaxation we will head out to for a guided tour of Irkutsk, with its Asiatic influences of nearby Mongolia and China; the architecture is both varied a curious, the heritage of Siberia’s aristocratic past. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this pretty little town. Overnight – Irkutsk

Day 4 (Tuesday)
Irkutsk – breakfast. After breakfast we transfer to the stunning town of Listvyanka. With panoramic views of Lake Baikal, Siberia’s inland sea, this is our base for the exploring the true heart of Siberia. An included guided visit to the Baikal museum, which shows the importance of the lake to the local and global ecosystems and economy of the area. For the daring a traditional banya (Russian Sauna) will be arranged; the perfect way to slip under the skin of Siberia. This afternoon we head out onto the lake itself, with a boat ride that gives a true sense of the size, isolation and importance of the lake. The rest of the day is free. Day 5 (Wednesday)
Listvyanka – breakfast. Today we will trek through the stunning taiga (forest) of the surrounding Primorsky Mountain to a nearby bay on the shores of Lake Baikal. For the more relaxed there is an optional full day out on the lake for deep water fishing in the world’s oldest and deepest fresh water lake. After the days events we will make the short return journey to Irkutsk. Overnight – Irkutsk

Day 6 (Thursday)
Irkutsk – breakfast. After breakfast tour ends. Onward transfer to airport.
