Welcome to Karelia! Arrive Petrozavodsk railway station, transfer and hotel check in. Taking a walking tour of the ‘Petrozavodsk-300’, discover 18th century architecture, gardens, monuments, theatres, Onego Lake embankment and a modern avant garde open-air museum. Afternoon hydrofoil to Kizhi Island, famous for its UNESCO protected wooden churches, 66km north-east of the city across Lake Onega. Tonight enjoy dinner at a traditional Karelian cuisine restaurant. Day 2: Karelia

This morning take a class at the Kizhi Museum in Petrozavodsk and learn to make a traditional Karelian doll. In the afternoon visit Kivach Waterfall (the largest flat land waterfall in Europe) and the beautiful wooden Assumption Church. Overnight - Karelia (B)

Days 3 - 4: Karelia

A free day to explore or optional rafting excursion on the nearby lake. On day 4 our arrangements conclude after breakfast and onward departure transfer to the railway station. Karelia (B:2)
