Here are some reviews from our past travellers to Russia. For more details on each tour, simply click on the tour image.
The service by yourself on behalf of On the Go tours was first class from start to finish. You were always helpful ( got us cheaper flights! ) and steered us through the visa maze.
We had a brilliant holiday and enjoyed eating and drinking at local places.
We loved St.Petersburg and Moscow, and the hotels were superb. Tatiana and Olga our guides were friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make our stay a good one. Tatiana's religious knowledge was encyclopaedic. Sergei, our Kremlin guide was also a friendly, knowledgeable man who was able to recommend cafe bars where we could rest our weary feet at the end of the day!
We will be travelling with On the Go again and indeed have already recommended it to a friend. Thanks for everything. ”
I just want to say that Katya was an excellent guide. Her knowledge and passion for Russia is undeniable. She made my Russian experience more memorable than I could have ever imagined! ”
Just writing to say that I had another great holiday with On the go. St Petersburg and Moscow were both fantastic places to visit.
Eugene was such a kind, funny and helpful guide. His knowledge and information about all the places we visited was excellent, and his enthusiasm for both his country and the topics he talked about were infectious!
I particularly enjoyed seeing the grand rooms of the Winter Palace and the amazing artwork of the Hermitage. The sight of St Basil’s cathedral lit up at night was breathtaking. The decorations and icons inside the cathedrals of St Basil’s and The Church on Spilt Blood were amazing. I also enjoyed the tour of the stations of the Moscow Metro and the visit to the Soviet Bunker.
Thanks again for such a fantastic tour. ”
Just thought that I'd let you know that we've had a great trip - I've just made it down to Shanghai, ready to fly back on Monday.
The stop-overs in Moscow, in Irkutz for the Baikal trek and Ulaan Bataar were superb - I have to highlight the ger camp which was superb and in such a wonderful setting.
Your representatives in both places were excellent - as was Constantin in Moscow.
I greatly enjoyed my time in Russia with On the GO. The tour was well organised and Vladimir was a good guide. Dealing with Sally in the Brisbane office was a fantastic experience. ”
Yeakaterinburg may be in the guide books as the "death capital" of Russia - the Romanovs, the mafia etc, but it has so much more to offer tourists.
Staying in a homestay will give you a warm welcome and an insiders view to the city. In winter you can go huskie sledding, skiing and snowmobiling. In summer there is trekking, horse riding and rafting. English speaking guides are available. The town is easy to get round with all the major sights in walking distance. Shopping, eating and drinking are well catered for - a definate stop not to be missed on any transiberian journey.
1. Yekaterinburg - is a very safe city
2. I would recommend a home stay - not hotel
3. Romanov tour- very interesting
4. 3 days in Yekaterinburg would be better - much more to see and do
5. drink lots of vodka! ”
A fun trip, quite interesting. Rarely boring. Russia is not an easy country to travel in, but I appreciated all the help from the guides and from on the go. The local staff were also very good - they were tremendous help to me after I lost my passport.”
