Welcome to St Petersburg and the start of your holiday! You will be collected from the Red Stars Hotel at 9pm and transferred to the train station for your overnight train to Karelia. Upon arrival into Petrozavodsk station you will be met at the train station by our local representative and transferred to your hotel for early check in. Taking a walking tour of the ‘Petrozavodsk-300’, discover 18th century architecture, gardens, monuments, theatres, Onego Lake embankment and a modern avant garde open-air museum. This afternoon take a hydrofoil to Kizhi Island, famous for its UNESCO protected wooden churches, 66km north-east of the city across Lake Onega. Tonight enjoy dinner at a traditional Karelian cuisine restaurant.
