Day 1: Moscow

Welcome to Moscow and the start of your holiday. Arrival transfer from the airport to hotel and check in. Remainder of the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Moscow

Enjoy a guided tour today for about 6 hours with your guide. You enjoy a walking tour of Red Square and the mighty Kremlin today. Red Square is dominated by the spectacular and iconic St Basil’s Cathedral, with its brightly coloured turban shaped domes. Red Square is also the site of the historic and ritzy GUM department store and Lenin’s Mausoleum. Next to Red Square is Russia’s political power house - the Kremlin. Our walking tour takes in the treasures of the golden domed Kremlin, its cathedrals, Ivan the Great’s Bell Tower and the Tsar Bell - the largest bell in the world, which weighs in at over 200 ton!

Day 3: Moscow

A day combining art in every sense! We explore the Tretyakov Gallery which houses the best examples of Russian art, from icons to modern art, including Soviet propaganda paintings. This afternoon, we take a ride on the underground, seeing the Moscow Metro stations, built during Stalin’s rule as “palaces for the people”. Lavish designs, with columns and chandeliers, sculptures and paintings, they truly are a sight to behold.

Day 4: Moscow - St Petersburg

Today you will have a guided tour of a Cold War Soviet bunker. Head 65 meters underground to explore a Stanlinist-era bunker that up until recently was a top secret symbol of Soviet Power. Cleverly hidden beneath an ordinary apartment building, on a busy stret in the heart of Moscow, constructed in secret to protect the select few against a US nuclear attack. We will then transfer you to the train station for the overnight train to St Petersburg.

Day 5: St Petersburg

This morning, we embark on a city tour driving along Nevsky Prospekt, through the museum and university district and Admiralty End, with stops at the Church on Spilled Blood and The Bronze Horseman. We then enjoy a guided visit of the Hermitage Collection at the Winter Palace, with its amazing collection of art and sculpture.

Day 6: St Petersburg

Travel to the former summer Imperial residence. Set in magnificent gardens, Peterhoff is reminiscent of Versailles. You will have the unique opportunity which can happen only in summer - to go to Peterhoff by hydrofoil and to see the splendid ensemble of fountains and the Grand Palace from the sea. Particularly impressive is the fact that the landscapers and garden designers who worked on the estate managed to overcome the unfavorable weather conditions of the Northern climate to create a lovely land of flowers and greenery. The fountains of Peterhof are one of the most famous tourist attractions. The diversity of fountains in the park is surprising.

Day 7: St Petersburg

We will transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight check-in.
