Day 1: St Petersburg

Welcome to St Petersburg and the start of your trans-siberian adenture! Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the evening is free for you to do as you please -

Day 2: St Petersburg

Today is at your leisure to explore the city.

Day 3: St Petersburg - Moscow

Enjoy the day to explore the city. Later we will transfer you to the train station and assist with embarking the first leg of the Trans-Siberian railway to Moscow.

Day 4: Moscow

Welcome to Russia’s vibrant capital city, arriving at the station we will take you to your hotel.

Day 5: Moscow

Spend today exploring the city at your leisure. This evening you will meet our local rep who will give you a briefing on the upcoming train journey and give you tickets and so forth.

Day 6: Moscow - Trans Siberian train

This afternoon we transfer to rail station to board the train to Yekaterinburg.

Day 7: Trans Siberian train - Yekaterinburg

In the evening today the train pulls into Yekaterinburg. Transfer to your hotel awaits on arrival.

Day 8: Yekaterinburg

Today enjoy a city tour with our expert local guide which takes in the new monastery that marks the site of the Romanov family’s execution in 1918 and Ganina Yama - a beautiful monastic complex built on the site where their bodies were discarded and later found. The guided tour also takes you to the Europe/Asia border where you can stand with a foot in each continent!

Day 9: Yekaterinburg - Trans Siberian train

Today we enjoy a day trip to Peschanoe Lake and walk along the river banks, taking in the breathtaking views, before heading to the 17th century Ural village of Reshoty, which has maintained its ancient way of life. Russian wooden houses, made without nails, are still used today. This evening you will be take to the station for the Trans Siberian train to Irkutsk.

Days 10-11: Trans Siberian train

Relax on board and enjoy the views as you travel through Siberia en route to Irkutsk.

Day 12: Trans Siberian train - Olkhon Island

Morning arrival into Irkutsk, a town with the Asiatic influences of nearby Mongolia and China and curious architecture - a legacy of Siberia's exiled aristocrats. Arriving here, we drive straight off to Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal.

Days 13-14: Olkhon Island

Spend today and tomorrow at leisure on Olkhon Island you can head out to discover the quaint villages, walk in the stunning forests and mountains taking in views of the lake.

Day 15: Olkhon Island - Irkutsk

Shortly after midday transfer back to Irkutsk, stopping for lunch en route. Spend the remains of the day at leisure in Siberia's capital which lies at the crossroads of centuries old tea, silk and fur trade routes between Western Russia and China.

Day 16: Irkutsk - Trans Siberian train

Very early morning transfer to the rail station to continue your momentous journey into the heart of Mongolia, a land of endless steppe, towering mountains, pristine lakes, rivers and desert.

Day 17: Trans Siberian train - Ulaan Baatar

Arrival in Ulaan Baatar and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a city orientation tour and visit the Natural History Museum. In the evening, experience a Mongolian folklore and dance show, followed by dinner.

Day 18: Ulaan Baatar

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Gobi (1.20 hrs). Transfer to the tourist camp and have an introduction to the surrounding area. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)

Day 19:

Today you will discover the tribune of nomads. Travel to the Canyon of Yolyn Am – a canyon of a river (Valley of Eagle). The trip today includes a visit the Nature museum and a camel breeding family. There is the option to go camel riding, before driving back to the ger camp. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)

Day 20:

Today there is an excursion to Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs) where it's possible to see the Saksaul forest in the desert, home to complete dinosaur skeletons and fossilised eggs which are still being found today. You’ll also visit the spectacular sand dunes of Moltsog Els. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)

Day 21:

Transfer from Dalanzadgad to the airport for your flight back to Ulaan Baatar. Upon arrival transfer a scenic upcountry drive from Ulaanbaatar transports you to the Terelj Hotel and Spa, one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Nestled in an almost untouched corner of the earth – Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, part of the vast Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area – this palatial yet intimate hotel is a destination in itself. (OVERNIGHT - Terelj Hotel and Spa)

Days 22-23:

Today and tomorrow is at your leisure to enjoy the facilities of the resort. (OVERNIGHT - Terelj Hotel and Spa)

Day 24:

Sadly your epic journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to UB airport in time for your flight home.
