Day 1: St Petersburg

Welcome to St Petersburg! Upon arriving at the airport you shall be transferred to the hotel where you have the rest of the day at your leisure. St Petersburg, the jewel in Russia’s Imperial Crown, is an enchanting city with a rich history and elegant buildings, formed around a series of canals, making it reminiscent of Venice. It was from St Petersburg that the Autocratic Tsar’s ruled Russia for two centuries until the revolution in 1917. If it is history you like, then there is plenty in this grandiose city to keep you entertained.

Day 2: St Petersburg

Today we take a city tour that takes us to the main sights. We drive along colourful Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue of St Pete’s from which most main attractions can be easily reached. Later today you shall visit Peter and Paul Fortress and the Hermitage.

Day 3: St Petersburg - Moscow

Today you shall be transferred to the train station where you shall board an express train to Moscow. Upon arriving in Moscow you shall be transferred to the hotel where you have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4: Moscow

Day at leisure.

Days 5-8: Moscow - Trans Siberian train

Today you will be transferred to the train station where you will board the train to Irkutsk.

Day 9: Trans Siberian train - Irkutsk

Today you shall arrive in Irkutsk at 09.38. You shall go on a day tour of Listvyanka/Bailkal(80kms) with a guide and driver. Listvyanka is a charming village dotted with traditional Siberian wooden houses, with a main road that runs right along the shore of Lake Baikal, making it the perfect base to explore this picturesque region. The deepest lake in the world (1620m) on merit of magnitude alone, Lake Baikal is renowned as one of earth’s most impressive natural wonders and known as ‘the pearl of Siberia’. Later you shall be transferred back to Irkutsk where you shall spend the night. Overnight - Hotel Marriott

Day 10: Irkutsk - Trans Siberian train

Today you shall be transferred to the train station where you shall board a train to Ulaanbaatar.

Day 11: Trans Siberian train - Ulaan Baatar

Today you shall arrive in Ulaan Baatar at 06.30. You have you own arrangements until 13th of July 2014.

Day 17: Ulaan Baatar

Today you shall depart to Beijing at 07.15. (train004)

Day 18: Ulaan Baatar - Beijing

Welcome to Beijing! You shall be transferred to the hotel where you have the rest of the day at leisure.

Great Wall

Day 19: Beijing

Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Mutianyu where we walk a section of the Great Wall with your guide. Depending on your fitness level can be as rigorous or as easy as you like.

Forbidden City

Day 20: Beijing

This morning, We explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Later today you shall also do a Hutongs tour and have a lunch with a local family.

Day 21: Beijing

Today we visit the Temple of Heaven where we can enjoy some time perhaps kite flying and continue onto Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake, to view the lavishly decorated temples, halls and courts, reconstructed in 1902.

Day 22: Beijing

Today we bid you Farwell and transfer you to the airport for your onward flight home.
