Spend the day at leisure. Thanks to its proximity to Mongolia and China, the indigenous people of the region, the Buryats, clung on to their Tibetan-Buddhist faith through the Communist era. We recommend you to visit the Ivolginsky Datsan - a centre of Buddhist culture and the open air Ethnographic Museum dedicated to the lives of local people and architecture through the ages.

Morning arrival into Ulaan Baatar after crossing the Mongolian border during the very early hours. Upon arrival into Ulaan Baatar transfer to Terelj National Park visiting Turtle Rock en route.
Spend today within the park, visit a local nomadic family and enjoy free time, allowing you to relax, trek or perhaps explore this beautiful region on horseback that you can book locally. Later we transfer you to Ulaan Baatar for check into your hotel.

Morning transfer to rail station for the final leg of your journey. Enjoy panoramic views of uninterrupted steppe, with the occasional nomad, camel and ger dotting the landscape. Continuing south the train enters the flat, dry and sparsely populated landscape of the Gobi desert before crossing the border into China today and the train pulls into Beijing, China’s bustling capital, in the afternoon tomorrow where our arrangements have now concluded.
