Day 1: St Petersburg

Welcome to the city of the Tsars! Arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: St Petersburg

Today we take a city tour that takes us to the main sights. We drive along colourful Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue of St Pete’s from which most main attractions can be easily reached. There’ll be a stop at the famous Church on Spilled Blood and Peter and Paul Fortress, the oldest building in St Petersburg, which was built in 1703. This fortress was once used as a political prison - containing the likes of Dostoevsky and Lenin’s older brother, Alexander. Later we enjoy a guided tour of the amazing Hermitage art collection, located in the grand sky blue Winter Palace. When you’ve had your fill of Matisse, Picasso, Cezanne, Monet and more, the rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Day 3: St Petersburg

Today we enjoy an in-depth tour of the Yusupov Palace a museum which provides an interesting look at the lives of the aristocracy of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The palace features exotic rooms such as the Moorish Room, a pool room with a secret compartment under the table and a wonderful Rococo theatre that is still used for concerts. Yusupov's palace is perhaps best known as the site of the murder of Grigory Rasputin, a man with mystical powers who influenced the family of the last Russian tsar. Remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 4: St Petersburg

Today we visit the summer palace of the Tsars, both Peterhof and Catherine Palace. Both stunningly beautiful buildings, the Peterhof boasts one of the largest fountains in the world, whilst Catherine Palace is home to the Amber Room, made from several tons of amber. The lavish Palace and gardens offer insight into the privileged lives of Russia’s Tsarsist aristocracy.

Day 5: St Petersburg - Novgorod

Morning at leisure.Later on we will transfer you to the bus station to catch your bus to former capital of Russia Novgorod. On arrival we will transfer you to your hotel.This afternoon you will experience Russian banya (steam sauna)

Day 6: Novgorod - Moscow

Today enjoy guided tour around the once powerful Kremlin in Novgorod which is now a relic of the town’s once political significance. In the centre of town you will find the impressive Cathedral of St Sophia, which is possibly the oldest building in Russia. This evening we will transfer you to the train station for your overnight train to Moscow(4 berth compartment)

Day 7: Moscow

Around 05:30 you will reach Moscow, we will be at the station to pick you up and transfer to your hotel. Before 1 pm we visit Lenin mausoleum and day with a guided walk of Kitay-Gorod (one of the oldest parts of Moscow) and Lubyanka area. You'll see ancient churches and buildings and the outside of the FSB (successor to the infamous KGB) as you head to the highlight of your walk - the impressive Red Square. Experience the magic of Moscow as you approach the Resurrection gate - a beautiful red archway that leads to Red swuare, from where you can catch your first glimpse of the wonderfully coloured fairytale castle of St Basil's.

Day 8: Moscow

Today at leisure, explore Russian capital your own way

Day 9: Moscow

Today, we tour Russia’s powerhouse - the mighty Kremlin, with guided walk through the grounds where we’ll see numerous government buildings, gold-domed cathedrals and the tsar bell - the largest bell that never rang!

Day 10: Moscow

Today we explore the Tretyakov Gallery which houses the best examples of Russian art, from icons to modern art, including Soviet propaganda paintings.Remaining day at leisure

Departure transfer to the airport.
