Welcome to St Petersburg! Arrival transfer from St Petersburg Pulkovo airport to our hotel. Buzzing with cafes, bars and restaurants, St Pete's is renowned for its fine Baltika beer and unashamedly good vodka. Perhaps get your trip off to a celebratory start!
This morning we visit Peter and Paul Fortress, home to the SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, housing the tombs of the Romanov monachs. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the Hermitage, where you will be taken to see the highlights of this incredible collection and the beautiful baroque palace that houses it. Tonight - an included transfer to the rail station for overnight train to Moscow (train #025).
Arrival transfer from Moscow train station to your hotel. Later enjoy a guided walking tour through Moscow’s city centre, taking in the sights of Red Square - the brightly coloured St Basil’s Cathedral, the ritzy GUM department store and Lenin’s Mausoleum.
This afternoon a meeting with our local office manager to collect tickets and discuss the arrangements for the upcoming Trans-Siberian experience this is followed by an evening transfer (via a shop to get supplies) to the rail station to start your Trans-Siberian journey (train #056)
This evening the train pulls into Yekaterinburg. Transfer to accommodation.
Today enjoy a city tour, which takes in the new monastery that marks the site of the Romanov family’s execution in 1918 and Ganina Yama - a beautiful monastic complex built on the site where their bodies were discarded and later found. The tour also takes you to the Europe/Asia border where you can stand with a foot in each continent!
Today spend the day at leisure. Late PM to the train station for the train leaving in the very early hours of the morning. (train #001)

Morning arrival into Irkutsk, a town with the Asiatic influences of nearby Mongolia and China and curious architecture - a legacy of Siberia’s aristocratic exiles. 07:30 Arrival to Irkutsk. Transfer with guide to Olkhon Island (350 km). Accommodation at Nikita's guest house. Lunch. Dinner

Settle into life aboard the train as it enters Russia's Far East region; this is also where Siberia officially ends. Via Kharbarovsk, the train pushes on, sometimes within 10km of the Chinese border.
Welcome to the end of the Trans-Siberian line. Arrival at 7 am and we will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day at leisure to explore.
Enjoy a city tour of Russia’s Far East Pacific port and a visit to Vladivostok port and a decommissioned submarine, the S-56, which sank 10 enemy ships in its day followed by an excursion to Vladivostok Fortress, where every day at noon, a giant gun is fired.
