Day 1: St Petersburg

This morning your guide will take you out to visit Peter and Paul Fortress followed by a visit to the brightly coloured Church on Spilled Blood and then St Isaacs which is one of the world's largest cathedrals.This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the Hermitage, where you will be taken to see the highlights of this incredible collection and the beautiful baroque palace that houses it. Day 3: Moscow

Welcome to Russia’s famed historical heartland! Arrival transfer for immediate check into your hotel. We then we visit the Red Square and see the beautiful St. Basil’s Cathedral wander around the historic GUM department store and if open, pay your respects to Lenin at the mausoleum. Afternoon explore the grounds of the Kremlin to visit its gold domed cathedrals, Ivan the Great Bell Tower and the Armoury. Overnight - 2 berth sleeper train

Day 4: Moscow - Yekaterinburg

Today meet your guide to metro to view the ornate Moscow Metro stations, built during Stalin’s rule as “palaces for the people”. After we take a guided tour of the Tretyakov Gallery, which houses the best examples of Russian fine art in the world, from icons to modern art, including Soviet propaganda paintings. Later transfer for the flight to Yekaterinburg. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Overnight - Ritz Carlton

Day 5: Yekaterinburg

Enjoy a city tour which takes in the new monastery that marks the site of the Romanov family’s execution in 1918 and Ganina Yama - a beautiful monastic complex built on the site where their bodies were discarded and later found. Day 6: Yekaterinburg

The train departs in the very early hours of the morning for your onward journey to Irkutsk. Relax on board and enjoy the views! Overnight - Hyatt Regency

Day 7: Yekaterinburg - Olkhon Island

Day 8: Olkhon Island

Arrival transfer from Irkutsk to Olkhon Island - it will be a morning transfer by car with the guide, about 350 km, then ferry to Olkhon Island. The local family you will stay with have Russian old style izbas (bungalows) that you will stay in. Overnight - 2 berth sleeper train

Day 9: Olkhon Island

Olkhon Island is the largest island (72 km long) on Lake Baikal, 350km north east of Irkutsk. The island boasts some of the most beautiful flora, fauna and breathtaking landscapes in the region. Enjoy the day free to take it all in. Overnight - Nikita Bencharov guest house

Day 10: Olkhon Island - Vladivostok

Time for your stay on Olkhon Island to come to an end, with the ferry back and your guide with the driver will pick you up and take you back to Irkutsk for your train to Vladivostok. Overnight - Nikita Bencharov guest house

Day 11: Vladivostok

Settle into life aboard the train as it enters Russia's Far East region; this also where Siberia officially ends. Via Kharbarovsk, the train pushes on, sometimes within 10km of the Chinese border. Overnight - 2 berth sleeper train

Day 12: Vladivostok

Relax on board and enjoy the views! Overnight - 2 berth sleeper train

Day 13: Vladivostok

Arrive in Vladivostok. Welcome to the end of the Trans-Siberian line. Checking into your hotel, enjoy a city tour with lunch and visit to Vladivostok Fortress, Vladivostok port and a decommissioned submarine, the S-56, which sank 10 enemy ships in its day! Overnight - 2 berth sleeper train

Day 14: Vladivostok
