Today we have a Moscow City tour. Start the day with a guided walk of Kitay-Gorod (one of the oldest parts of Moscow) and Lubyanka area. You'll see ancient churches and buildings and the outside of the FSB (successor to the infamous KGB) as you head to the highlight of your walk - the impressive Red Square. Experience the magic of Moscow as you approach the Resurrection gate - a beautiful red archway that leads to Red swuare, from where you can catch your first glimpse of the wonderfully coloured fairytale castle of St Basil's. Today, we tour Russia’s powerhouse - the mighty Kremlin, with guided walk through the grounds where we’ll see numerous government buildings, gold-domed cathedrals and the tsar bell - the largest bell that never rang! Afternoon at leisure. Later this evening we board our overnight sleeper train bound for St Petersburg
On arrival transfer to your hotel. Today we visit Peter and Paul Fortress, home to the SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, housing the tombs of the Romanov monachs. We visit the brightly coloured Church on Spilled Blood and St Isaacs, one of the world's largest cathedrals. Overnight at Petro Palace
Today we visit the world famous Hermitage collection - one of the world's largest art collections. The collection offers a broad range of exhibits including Asian and European art, Pre historic art and the awe inspiring treasury collection. There are also countless works from the Masters such as Van Gogh, Picasso and Matisse. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the Hermitage, where you will be taken to see the highlights of this incredible collection and the beautiful baroque palace that houses it. Today we head out of town to visit the amazing royal residences of the Russian Tsars, located on the outskirts of St Petersburg, enjoying views of the russian countryside en route. Take a guided tour around the beautiful Catherine Palace at Tsarkoe Selo. This palace was destroyed during the war and has been recently restored to its former glory. The sumptuous Catherine Palace has a stunning baroque facade and is home to the lavish Amber Room, made from several tonnes of amber. Overnight at Petro Palace
