Day 1: Volga River
Welcome to Russia and the start of your holiday! Airport arrival transfer in Moscow to board the river cruiser, your home for the next 10 nights.
Day 2: Volga River
This morning, venture to the legendary Red Square - site of the breathtaking and iconic St Basil’s Cathedral. Take a guided tour of Red Square including the outside of St Basil’s Cathedral, GUM Department store and visit the observation platform of Sparrow Hill. This afternoon is at leisure.
Day 3: Volga River
This morning, we visit Moscow’s mighty Kremlin and Armoury. This afternoon we set sail.
Day 4: Volga River
Cruising. Over the coming days, relax and enjoy life aboard, whilst you cruise along the Neva river, stopping for sightseeing at ancient Golden Ring towns and charming villages. With a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills, rivers, forest and steppes, cruise beyond Lake Ladoga to picturesque Kizhi Island on Lake Onega. Here you can explore the open air museum, UNESCO protected churches and the fine arts museum.
Day 5: Volga River
Cruising. Goritzy, where you’ll visit the Monastery of St Cyril on the White Lake - one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Russia, dating back to the 14th century. The monastery is a home to the most exquisite icon collection in the world. In Yaroslavl explore the incredible Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour and see the beautiful frescoes in Church of Elijah.
Day 8: Volga River
Soak up the beautiful riverside views as you approach St Petersburg this morning. Today tour the stunning city of Tsars, with the whimsical Church on Spilled Blood, St Isaac’s Cathedral, St Savior Cathedral, Nevsky Prospect, Peter and Paul Fortress - home to the SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, housing the tombs of the Romanov monarchs.
Day 10: Volga River
This morning visit the opulent Winter Palace. Once the royal residence of the Tsars, the palace is now home to the Hermitage Museum, which has one of the biggest art collections on earth! Rest of the day at leisure.
